Just an FYI

If you live in Parsippany and get a package sent to you through Fedex, it might have a required signature and thus, if you have a normal job, you will be unable to accept delivery. This is not a huge problem. On day 1 you can ask them to hold it at the office for pickup. Their pickup hours are reasonable, open to 8 or 9pm. After they have tried to deliver it for the third time because they are dense and it takes them 2 days to pull a box off a truck, it will be ready to be picked up. If you call 1-800-G0-FEDEX with either the door tag or tracking number in hand, you will be prompted by a voice response menu system. It will not understand a word you say and then repeat the options with numbers. The correct responses to get some help are "more options", "more options", "talk to a representative", "no". Or, for those actually intent on doing it, 4, 4, 0, 2. If you get any of these wrong, you must hang up and redial, which is tre cool. Then, when talking to your Fedex representative, they will inform you that your package is being held at the Fedex station on 1 Commerce Drive, Dover, NJ. That's One C-O-M-M-E-R-C-E D-R-I-V-E in D-O-V-E-R. If you are from north Jersey, you generally know where Dover is. This is tolerable. The Fedex representative being one of a hundred high school dropouts or part time college students sitting in a room in Irvine, California chewing gum and telling people what the computer says will not know where Dover is or possibly where NJ is. When mapquesting or google-mapping 1 Commerce Drive, Dover, NJ, a funny thing happens. Both programs will balk at the quandary. That address in un-possible. There is no Commerce Drive in Dover, NJ and, therefore, no 1 Commerce Drive, Dover, NJ. If one puts this question to the Fedex website office locator, it promptly responds "Bitch, I don't know what you're talking about. The screen says 1 Commerce Drive, Dover, NJ. There is also an office in Parsippany, but that is entirely too close to you. Now leave me be. I'm watching Dr. Phil on Oprah." So I went to the yellow pages, or, more precisely, Yellowpages.com. So I says to yellowpages, "Tell me, dear yellowpages, my buddy, my pal, WTF IS FEDEX TALKING ABOUT!?!?!". Yellowpages lets me in on a little secret. The Fedex office I am looking for is neither on Commerce Drive, nor is it in Dover. It is also not in a town that borders Dover or could be construed by a drunk donkey to be part of Dover. It's on 1 Commerce BLVD in Succasunna. Feeling ever so elated, I clicked on the Fedex office name for a handy dandy map and off I went, tracking number and picture ID in hand. Thus, I came to 1 Commerce Blvd, Succasunna, home of the elusive Fedex office. It was 3 pm on a Friday and I was driving with traffic. It took some time and many 2nd gear down shifts and stops on route 80 to get there. And, when first I set my eyes upon 1 Commerce Blvd, Succasunna, I was slightly dismayed. I mean, certainly the guy owned a nice 7 series BMW, a boat, and an in-ground pool, but I don't think he had my package in his house. Nay, I had been had by Yellowpages who is obviously in cahoots with Fedex. I bet they are laughing now. When I got back to my office at almost 5, I began to unearth the murky depths of this conspiracy. Not only is Commerce Blvd in Succasunna, but the OTHER Commerce Blvd is ALSO in Succasunna about 1.5 miles from where I was. This, I am now lead to believe, is where Fedex resides behind the Roxbury mall. I am somewhat jaded. Perhaps I shall test it out on Monday.

That is one paragraph focused around a single subject. 600+ words does not necessitate a second paragraph.

I enjoyed reading that. That now confirms my suspicions in the general opinions of NJ; it really does suck! Even Weird Al agrees; read up his lyrics from "I'll Sue Ya".

No cliff notes needed, not worth reading. I want the 5 minutes of my life back.

Funny, I remember back in grade school people saying the same thing about their 1 page paper made up of 1 paragraph.

600 well written words might work fine in one paragraph. However, that traffic accident at the top of the page should probably be in 4 paragraphs maybe more.

Do you get that impression from the story or the manor of it's telling.

!
You're going to argue the literary merits of a forum post? Furthermore, you contend that a stream of conscience monologue had poor paragraph structure in a post that has a new paragraph for almost each sentence? You, sir, are hearby stricken from my annual Christmas card list should I ever decide to write one!

Did you finally find it?

Hi,
I am in a similar scenario and i am supposed to pick up my Fedex package and the fedex representative always gives me 1 Commerce Dr, Dover, NJ but its not on the MAP!!!!!!

Did you find the location you were looking for and pick up your package? If so, can you guide me to that place?

I have to go there tomorrow morning.

Vik

Fedex is on Commerce Market Blvd off of Mount Hope Ave in Rockaway. It is across the street from the Rockaway mall. What you can do is take the exit for the Rockaway mall off of 80. Drive passed the Rockaway mall and make a right onto Mt Hope. This road runs along the back side of the mall. Commerce Market will be probably the next left. There is nothing on the street except Fedex. You will not see Fedex from Mt Hope. It's a newly constructed road. Go to the end and park in the big lot outside the fence. When you walk up to the side of the building facing you, go in the left door. That puts you in the office space. There is no customer service area. I had one of the office people get my package.

Thanks

Thanks. Let me figure that out in the Map, take the directions and try my luck tomorrow. The Fedex guy says the package is already on truck today though i told them not to. Not sure if i can pick up the package in the evening after 5 PM.

Do you have a phone number of that location by chance? I have to pick up ASAP as i have mail in rebate involved with the product with post mark date of 14th

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Vik

If you call 1-800-go-fedex and get through the maze to an actual person, they can transfer you to the facility. Nothing the home office will tell you is correct. The people at the "1 Commerce Dr, Dover" facility will know where it is as they are able to drive to work each day.

CORRECTION: Commerce Market is off of Mount Pleasant.
You will take Mt Hope from 80 to Mt Pleasant. Make a right. Commerce Market is somewhere in the void between Townsquare drive (the squiggly road) and route 15. You can also take 15 south from 80 to mount pleasant and approach commerce market from the other direction (making it a right). Commerce Market does not show up on any online map system I know of.

I dont see it on the Map

I do not see any street on the map, probably because its a new road?

I am going from Parsippany, NJ on 80W, i understand what you said was...take the Rockway Mall Exit (35B) and take a left onto Mt Hope Avenue, after i drive pass the mall which would be on my right, i go further and would see commerce market Blvd on my left?

Am i right?

Vik

Hey maxx my first post was trying to by sorta funny not assholish. But now that I re-read it I don't think the proper tone comes through. Stupid me for posting at 5 am.

Though I really like your response. So, I hope you'll forgive me and re-include me in your Christmas card list should you ever decide to write one.

This might work:

FedEx 800‑463‑3339 Say "representative" at each prompt, ignoring messages.

Smokey - No hard feelings.

Movie - Maybe you went there already, but remember that the Commerce Market street is off of Mount Pleasant and not Mount Hope. When you get off 80, you're on Mount Hope. Go passed the mall and make a right on Mount Pleasant. The road is off of Mount Pleasant. And, as I said, it does not show up on any maps. Talk to the people there by getting transfered from the main fedex line to get additional directions.
