Rhode Island RX-8 owners unite! Please post here!
We bought our Winning Blue RX-8 August 24, and took delivery four days later! It has been driving bliss since then!
Coincidentally, Aug 24 was the first day that we saw an RX-8 on the road in Rhode Island--a Velocity Red heading south on route 4 at about noon.
Any Rhode Island RX-8 owners out there interested in forming an extremely informal, unofficial club? I always disliked being dependent on CT and MA Miata clubs--their activities were always too far away. The purpose of the club would be simple: to get together periodically, line our 8's up in a parking lot for passersby to gawk at, and have some good food and conversation. Maybe we could parade down to Narrgansett beach like I see the Harley and Corvette clubs doing sometimes.
P.S. This is my first post--I've been lurking for awhile but never had anything to say while our 8 was merely a dream. We actually located our dealer (Ira Mazda, Danvers, MA) through a post on this forum--so thanks to whoever mentioned them.

Congrats... How about a RI Rotary thing? My buddy and I are both rotary enthusiasts and going to school at New England Technical Institute in Warwick. I'm also one town over from Danvers MA and hoping to purchase my 8 in a little under a year, possibly from there. I had problems with Tasca Ford/Mazda in Cranston.
Hope to see you around,
Chris

We've had our car for a couple of weeks now, and just finished the break-in period.
Actually, I teach part-time at New England Tech (CIS dept., Microsoft networking). What is your major?
We talked to Tasca also. The salesman was helpful, but they just did not have the car we were looking for on their list. Ira, being a much larger dealership, got their cars earlier, had twice as many cars allocated, and had exactly the car we wanted on their list. We drove all that way in the first place because we heard on this forum that they had a car to test drive.
I know there are other Rodyelinders out there on this forum, because they were posting before the first 8's arrived in the state. Bringing in people who currently own RX-7's might help, too.
Rhode Island owners interested in some sort RX-8/rotary club please post here!!

We both are in Advanced Automotive in the morning class. Be on the look out for a grey 88 GXL and a black 93 R1, 'cuz I know I'll be looking for that GT RX-8. I'm down, as soon as I get the FC's rear end up and running.

I am interested in joining an informal club. I live in Newton, MA and also just bought my Winning Blue 8 form Ira Mazda in Danvers, MA. That is a great dealership, I bought my 2000 Celica GTS from them also. Let me know when we might have some events. I will make the drive to wherever :D

Hi...I am very close to my purchase of a base 6 speed RX8. I live in Brockton, MA. For those of you in MA, what dealers have you purchased your cars from? I have had good experiences with the Mazda Gallery and 128 Mazda. I am a longtime rotary enthusiast. I have owned 3 12A powered 1st gens, and 3 13B N/A 2nd gens. Skipping the FD and going FE baby!!

I don't own an 8, but I wouldn't mind meeting up with some owners for some informal meet.
Sad thing is, I have only see 1 RX8 in a parking lot and none on the road.

dead thread revival
Did anything come of this thread? Any of you still interested? After a couple years there seem to be a couple dozen 8s that I see regularly. Got my paddles out and I'm cranking the defib. machine on this old thread - CLEAR!!
