my friend has an 04 8 with 65,000 miles and when he turns on his car it takes long to turn on it crank and cranks and then it turns on it takes about 10 seconds to turn on... and when he turns on his car when the motor is cold it dont make that high pitch sound like mine does and mine turns on fast... why does it take long to turn on? and what is that high pitch sound?

 

sounds like the starter is goin out, and the high pitched sound could be your air pump goin out
