Huge meet & car show in pittsburgh this weekend!

The OAC Mazda Club and the West Penn Mazda Club invites you to join us on 7/18/09 and 7/19/09 for MOUNTAIN FURY II. This year we are pleased to team up with the West Penn Mazda Club and attend the Asian Car Show on Saturday followed by a cruise AND return on Sunday for the Vintage Grand Prix. Shine up your car and get ready for an entire weekend of fun.
Click here to check out the cruise route we are taking to Quaker Steak & Lube!

This meet is open to ALL Mazda owners, family and friends. We hope everyone who attended this meet last year will return for a fun-filled weekend of activities. Once again, we will feel the fury in Pittsburgh. This year, we will meet at 9:30am on Saturday and spend the day at the exotic car show. At 5:00pm, we will take a drive through the curvy hills of Pittsburgh, ending with dinner and drinks at Quaker Steak & Lube. The OAC is excited to be able to feature this meet again after the huge turnout last year.
PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT BY SENDING AN E-MAIL TO INFO@OACMAZDACLUB.COM
PLEASE STATE HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ATTENDING THE DINNER FOR RESERVATIONS. THANKS!

Schenley Park is the scene of our nation's only vintage race held on city streets. This 456 acre golf course and park hosts over 2,000 show cars and well over 200,000 spectators for the weekend.

The PVGP races through Schenley Park are considered by many drivers to be the most challenging race course worldwide. The 2.33 mile circuit has 23 turns not to mention haybales, manhole covers, phone poles and stone walls.

There are practice/warm-up sessions each morning. Qualifying races take place on Saturday with the Crown Royal Featured Races on Sunday. Both afternoons feature exciting racing as groups are separated by engine size and year of manufacture. There is little difference to spectators between Saturday's and Sunday's track action as over 175 cars will compete.
View the PVGP website here and be sure to pre-register!
Asian Car Display
This is a growing segment of our car shows with great representation from Mazda and Subaru. The West Penn Mazda Club is working on getting us a Mazda tent at this event.

This is a casual meet and you are free to come and go as you please, joining us at any of these times. In order to be in the car show, you must arrive before 9:30am and be registered. We recommend you pre-register before the show.
We will be taking group pictures at 10:00am on Saturday at the car show so we ask that everyone from both clubs be in attendance and ready for a group shot. We will also be taking pictures along the cruise route later in the afternoon.
The West Penn Mazda Club is supplying a 10x20 canopy, a table and a limited supply of folding chairs. You should bring your own folding chair to this event if you want to be sure and have a seat. We've always had coolers and snacks as well but please participate by bringing your own cooler with drinks and snacks. Participants won't be sitting around much, as they will want to stray away from "home base" to peruse all the cars on display, the vendors, etc. Hot food, cold drinks, and other treats (ice cream, chips) are usually made available to the general public for a "donation" by one of the areas grocery store chains (Shop 'n' Save).
We highly recommend you attend the races on Sunday. They are worth sticking around for. The racing is what the whole week-long ordeal is all about. It is one of the largest attended races, of any kind, in the US, partially becasue it's free. The racing is awesome . . . these guys racing their old cars, some priceless, don't hold back.
