Hey guys, not to venture off topic but I am moving to Hampton VA in a few months to start my dental residency at the veterans hospital there. I don’t really know much about the area but will probably be down there looking for a place to rent soon. Any suggestions? I was thinking of trying to rent someplace on the beach. PS... I do have a rx8 and would be interested in going on cruises ect in my spare time with you guys seeing as I wont know anyone there. Any help would be great. Thanks.

 

welcome brudda. I wish I could help you out in the rental dept, but I've only had one apartment and it was a bachelor pad in Newport News (45 min from VA beach). Anyway, we have a quality group forming up, and most of them are from that side of the water, go check out www.hr8c.com. I'm sure some of us over there could help as well!

with me being all knowing in the art of Hampton roads, I hate to say this... but pungo? never heard of it.

 

What!!!!! ...I've never really been out there myself but from word of mouth it is suppose to be the spot for some spirited driving....but nothing compared to the dragon I hear...

 

Dan mapped out the Pungo Run for a meet last year. It's some windy country roads in the south of Virginia Beach, an area known as Pungo. I took a friend out on the run again last fall and decided to buy the Zeta kneepad; my right leg was sore from bracing on the corners. It's as good as it gets here in the flatlands.

I left my camera at home. Sorry, dude.

BTW, who won the drag race away from Awful's?

I remapped it to see. It's 50 miles with Awful Arthur's as the beginning and end. Dan has a few photo stops marked out as well. The route takes up the whole southern half of Va Beach. I did a different version to show that. Right after you guys peeled out, my daughter asked in her best "are they in trouble?" voice, "are they racing?"

 

So how is everybody doing?...I just finished up my last final today & have a me a little 2 week break before summer classes start have a bunch of goodies arriving & laying around so plan to take these 2 weeks and work on car...

Any word yet on this months meet???... I have drill on the 19th & 20th of this month so please dont schedule it that weekend ...

 

completely OT - I noticed you mention drill and college. Are you a reservist? Or are you prior enlisted? If so I might hit you up with some questions.
