Anyone here going to be at New Jersey Motorsports Park this Sunday (18th) for the Grand-Am Rolex race? Gotta support those Mazda RX-8 drivers in the GT group! It's my first time ever at a race (of any kind) so I'm pretty crazy excited! We got VIP tix so we'll get to go down to the pits too. Shweet! I'm taking my R3 and thought it if anyone else is going - we could meet up, have a good photo op for our cars, etc. We're parking in the Thunderbolt paddock.

How'd you get the VIP tics?

 

We're staying in Vineland Sat night and heading over to the track early sun morning. got the tics online at the NJMP website. =)

we ordered ours last week so the packet had time to be mailed to us (with the parking pass)... but it said on their website to just print out the confirmation with the UPC on it and they'll scan it at the entrance (parking included).

we're in the Thunderbolt paddock and will be there around 0800 Sunday.

 

Is it better to purchase the tickets ahead? I've been to events where the pre paid lines are longer then if you were to purchase them there.

What a kick *** time that was! We wandered all through the garages, down into the pit area, stood by turn one during the green flag fly-by (OMFG) - and with the VIP tix we had access to a balcony overlooking the turn 2/3 chicane (with an air conditioned meeting room too with food and beerz). Got to meet Will Turner (Turner Motorsport M6 team) Saturday night - then was given a personal tour of the car Sunday. Just an awesome event all around.

Never got to formally meet anyone from here but we did see several RX-8's parked way inside just out of turn 1. They were in a Mazda sectioned-off parking area. Couple of white ones and a gray with carbon-fibre hood. Anyone from here?

 

I was the grey one with CF hood amd MS body kit.
Had a great time. Spent some time at the VIP suites as well.
Joined the Gran Am tour and got to see the inside of the Sun Trust rig.
