Exclamation Good and bad NJ dealer service centers

I searched and haven't found a thread with recommendations as to which dealers are/are not competent in their work and their attitude towards customers. I figured I would start one. Unfortunately, I'm starting with a dealer which seems to be deficient in both areas.

I have not been happy with my service at Schwartz Mazda, Shrewsbury, New Jersey. For a detailed list of my reasons, please see this thread - https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/service-woes-80017/

Does anyone have a recommended shop?
Does anyone else have horror stories?

Could you expand on that? Are these just routine maintenance visits or have they gone above and beyond?


I guess some specifics should be addressed in this thread. How about these...

1. What kind of services have you had performed (specifically which ones led to your positive/negative impression)?
2. Do you feel they take the time to listen to your concerns?
3. Have you ever left the dealership feeling dissatisfied?
4. Have you had any problems having them perform Mazda-mandated services (e.g. TSB's)
5. Do you find yourself explaining RX8 specific problems to the technician, or does he/she explain them to you?

Feel free to add questions I have not listed. Thanks.

Flemington Mazda has been good to me. I had a problem with my sunroof being misadjusted and rubbing the paint off inside the sunroof frame causing it to rust. I showed it to them and they sent it to a body shop to be fixed no questions asked. If I had needed a rental it would have been provided to me but I didnt need one since I dont drive the 8 daily.

All of their other service has been great. They always take care of me even though I am not there often. Oil changes are done quickly and they will fix any other warranty problems you may have.

Hamilton Mazda is good as long as you know your ****. The first time i walked in there i was told "$1400 over sticker is a very good price for this car" 2 months of the cat and mouse game i paid $100 over invoice and they got me a car from another dealer. I know a girl who bought an 8 there with no prior knowledge and paid over 32k for an auto with the sports package.

hamilton has been good to me

1. bought an 05 6spd base w/ spare tire $21,995 in october.
2. had the front brake pads changed due to squeal (never had to mention words tsb or recall, just told them the problem, already knowing in my mind what needed to be done, and they took care of it)
3. oil change, $33, no issues

the two times i took it to the dealer i called the day before and got appointments for 7:55am. Drove away by 9:30-10:00.

Bought mine at Maple Shade Mazda in Turnersville. Only been in once for routine oil change...no problem. They even have a wireless network in the waiting area where I can use my laptop.

Hamilton was def good to me, but only after they tried to rape me one the first offer. Once they got that idea out of the way they were very helpfull on getting me my car and the guys at the service department are cool. When i was re-wiring my car for aftermarket HU I was able to sit down with the warrenty specialist and map out my plans with him and discus what wires i could tap not to void my warrenty.

This thread is about the Service Centers of the dealerships, not the dealerships themselves. I do appreciate your contributions though, and hopefully someone will benefit from your heads-up.

That said, wow that is one hell of a customer friendly service center.

Ohh yeah and not car related. I use to be friends with the service girl, Helana, and it is definately "good scenery" as your waiting.

yeah...definitely a plus, but they have no hot service techs...that would beat out the wireless network anyday

I just had my first oil change at Hamilton Mazda. They cleaned out my drip rails for me (using compressed air), and answered all of my questions. Be sure to read your receipt though, I caught them charging me for 5 quarts of oil instead of 4. You use 3.7 for an oil change, right? The service guy said "oops!", and it was fixed. I didn't have to pay anyway, since my first two oil changes are free.

I bought my car at Schwarz Mazda and have had work done at the following dealers:

1) Schwarz Mazda
2) NuCar Mazda (DE)
3) Mazda of Princeton
4) Maple Shade Mazda (T-ville)

Mazda of Princeton has provided the best service thus far of the above dealers. Maple Shade is the worst.

Issues:
Schwarz Mazda - I scheduled TSB for cracked switches - and they didn't have the switches - so I had to come back to have the work done.
NuCar Mazda - I think they broke off a piece of my E-brake cover (the part that shields the opening to the inside of the center console). No biggy - can't prove it was them.
MS Mazda - Where do I start. Dropped the car off for warranty work. When they realized they were going to have it for more than one day - they made me arrange for my rental. The warranty work was for a heater switch, which required the removal of the HU to either repair or diagnose. They never replaced the two front screws and the bolt. I only discovered this when I installed my iPod adaptor. They had to mail me the screws and bolt - several months later. I don't think I will be going back there anytime soon.

Given that I have just moved and I am about to break the 50K barrier, I haven't decided where I am going to go to for service. I am able to do basic service on my own (oil, air, spark plugs) and have been buying parts from Rosenthal Mazda.

I work for wayne mazda sales we have the #1 rank for customer service for parts service and sales. also we are labled the largest dealer in the country.

I am equidistant from Faulkner (To Be Sure) Mazda in Northeast Philly and Hamilton Mazda.

I've heard good reviews about Hamilton Mazda already on here, anyone been to Faulkner?

I take my car to Faulkner and have had no problems. They have treated me well and have always done wht they promised. So far I haven't had to pay for anything except oil changes.

absolutly no questions asked stay as far away from Ramsey Mazda as possible. They are theifs, lie to your face and once they get your money they can careless. You can even check out the Bussiness Bereu web site they will tell you of all complaints.
