I'm gonna bring 2 quarts of oil with me, just in case. Anything else that would be good to bring?

i'm tempted to go. I really am. Though its the day before my ear surgery, and the day before my car goes into the bodyshop! What do I do! And i've never been to Englishtown before. Its only about 40 minutes from me as well.

I think there might actually be alot of people there, at my school its going around. Some of my friends were talking about this before I actually heard anything. They're all VW owners so the word has definatly spread.

Hah.. you won't need that much. Car won't be running sustained high revs long enough- I think a very spirited highway run does about the same. CnnmnSchnpps and myself ran a very rich premix preparing for the track; we probably overdid it as the track is mostly slow to mid-speed corners. We had to force ourselves to drive very hard on the highway afterwards.

Maybe bring water and snacks. You might want to keep the car as light as possible too. Probably prepare your car with no more than a half a tank of gas when you're about to run. 4 runs only ate about 1/4 of the tank, IIRC.

I think you should be fine.. if not, you can rent from the venue (it was about $3-5 the last time.. though it may be different organizers this time around)- just be sure to come early.

if you can't find a place to crash I could ride up there with you, we live close to each other I believe and I don't have to stay either so most likely it'll be driving in the AM

^ there are only 2 points of the track where you can crash into a wall. Really only one as the wall besides the main straightaway has plenty of room in case your rear swings out if you carry too much speed in (I wouldn't worry about it on the 8)... The one you gotta look out for is the high speed corner leading into the bleachers- it's pretty cambered too unlike most of the track and if you're gunning for the best time, you might have to just touch the inside apex- problem is, if you do go beyond the apex, there's grass/dirt and you might upset the car's balance and suddenly slam into the wall.

For anyone interested in a virtual training- watch this vid! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtQy9EduXX4 (it's not as scary as it looks.. mostly b/c of the shaky cam)

me and two or three guys are definitely going. two 8's and two civic si's(haha). we registered a few days ago but didn't get a email from speedlounge or whatever that site was. does that mean we were too late signing up or is it just the first 200 cars to be physically at the track??.....and this will be my first time on the track with my 8, any pointers for the etown track??

if its only 200 cars in, i vote for being there at 6am.

if we have 10 cars going and the rx8 forums are small, think how many the 350z, porsche, ferrari, lexus, honda boards are bringing?

i dont feel like driving 3 hours and not racing.
