First real snow

So tomorrow it is supposed to snow 2+ inches in MA, hope everyone has snow tires!

Actually I'm still searching for a new 8, I was wondering how they handle in the snow with blizzaks? Last winter I had a corolla with bald A$$ tires and I did ok. What does everyone think?

I have an M/T 05 Shinka with nankangs on it (not really for winter), but I have been driving around really with no problems, but i have had alot of RWD cars that I always drive in winter no matter how bad it gets. The first snow storm in PA with ice and what not I did fine going up our steep hill, but when you come to a dead stop it takes a little bit longer to go so if people get behind you and don't like it tough s@#t.

so starting in second gear and driving like an adult and I should be ok?

What I'm afraid of is last year in my rolla, I left my job and there was 8 inches of new snow. It took me 45 min to go 11 miles. the parking lot was 8 inches of unplowed stuff, and the highway was 2 or 3 inches of packed snow. With bald tires anything over 25 mph and he front end would slip. I've never driven a RWD car on anything but dry pavement.

I get some of my pics downloaded I'll send some of the Ice storm. It was up to the bottom of my front bumper and the underneath of the car. I start in 1st and barely give it gas and I go. Sometimes depending on the angle of the roads up here when you go you just slide a we bit and that's about it then go. They don't like to plow to much up here. I used to have a 92 mx3 a long time ago, it went real good also.

Mine are new, but maybe timecars may consider. What are they, and how much, and how much treads left.

pulling the trigger

Well I guess tomorrow i should just pull the trigger and buy my 8. 04 gt with 44k miles on it. my 2 concerns were winter and oil, guess winter wont be to bad with snow tires and not driving around like an a$$. And the oil doesnt seem to be a HUGE pain. Check it every other fill up. put a quart in roughly every 1000 miles.

Anyone in the MA area wanna sell some snow tires :-P

I CANT wait for a real snow. Finally bought blizzaks, just waiting for the first good one to try them out. I hear the car should behave really well...

Oh and about oil- I check it once in a while, but to be honest it never gets low until about the 3k mile mark for me, when the oil gets changed anyway. And that's even with the increased oil metering pump rate. I know each car is different, but I never have to give it oil between changes, you might not have to either.

yea im gonna have to buy some Dunlop Winter Sport M3's...

Last night was horrible. Just 2in of snow layered in ice...my 8 was not happy.

The worst part was this morning, My 8 was a ice sheet. Like i had to chisel my driver side door open, as well as my trunk. That and my DSC was kicking on and off ever 5 seconds or so on the secondary roads.
