CTRA Limerock meet May 25th 12:00pm

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...kfliercopy.jpg

As the flier states, we will be having our second annual meet in conjunction with the Grand Am series at LimeRock Park in Lakeville, CT. Some more details are being hammered out as we speak. We are working with Mazda to sponsor the food for all those who attend. We are also working with Speedsource and Riley Racing to get into the paddocks and drool all over the 20b RX8's!

As of right now this event will be free of charge for admittance, but Limerock is working out the details.

Worst comes to worst it will be a huge meet with the NYRA and NJRA at a great venue. http://www.limerock.com/content/track-track-map

As time moves forward I will let people know if we are BBQing (all will chip in) or they are providing. We should have a very large tent for all of us to hang under.
P.S. Beer can be consumed, but no drinking and driving.

The meet will start around 12:00pm, but we are having a pre meet and cruse at 10:15am at the usual spot in Stamford (leaving at 10:30am). The Park & Ride off the Merritt Parkway exit 35 (High Ridge Rd).

Tickets for the rest of the event can be purchased through the Lime Rock ticket office for Friday, Saturday and Monday. The main race will be Monday and we will be gathering again to root on the rotary teams!

Very nice, but we have a thread for this event.

john64 04-22-2008 04:44 PM

Um, no you dont. This is for the CT people. It s scheduled meet for my crew in conjunction with the NYRA and NJRA. This is a specific meet on the 25th, not the whole event. If you wuld like to come, please do.

scoreo99 04-22-2008 04:54 PM

john dont be talkin smak on the 8 forum now, its nice and quiet w/o u 7 rowdies comin on here n causing trouble :)

Im in, btw

john64 04-22-2008 08:30 PM

No smack talking here, just putting it out. Its a meet inside of the event, corrdinated by the people bringing the event itself.

j67345 04-22-2008 08:56 PM

I'm in!

scoreo99 04-22-2008 09:23 PM

mmmmmm..... meat inside of meet! whats on the grill?

ROTARYROCKET7 04-23-2008 07:54 AM

im there

altspace 04-23-2008 07:55 AM

Gotta love meat...the kind you cook on the grill.

cynic710 04-23-2008 09:00 AM

i still regret missing the hooters meet, so believe me when i say im gunna do whatever i can to be there.

john64 04-23-2008 09:25 AM

Brians meat? He said something about a small portable grille, not a big Weber.

dmc27 04-23-2008 01:38 PM

I'm eyeballing your meet.

Cruise, you say? Something more than just the ride north to Limerock?

I'm definitely interested, and should be able to make it.

john64 05-01-2008 04:29 PM

Yeah, we will look into doing a local cruise up at Limerock. I dont know the area, so it may be an informal thing. The meet is picking upsteam as we have people from all over coming up. Some are staying the whole weekend! I think hanging out and having a nice BBQ with friends in such a great location is going to be awesome.

dmc27 05-01-2008 04:44 PM

gotcha. I'm going to try to head up regardless of the 'cruise' portion.

with no event on Sunday will we still be able to drool over the cars in the corral?

midlifer 05-01-2008 05:54 PM

Are us MASSHOLES invited? :) If it helps I do like to consider mtself an honorary member of the NYRA. Notice the decal :icon_tup:

Mendossa 05-03-2008 06:57 PM

john64 05-03-2008 07:23 PM

As long as its a rotary canuck!

Dont worry about bringing food that day, we got yah covered because of the long drive. Unless you bring some of the high octaine Canadian beer!

dmc27 05-05-2008 12:28 PM

It's all good - Mendossa's cool!

for a canuck anyway.

john64 05-06-2008 06:54 AM

So all you rotary guys should definately come out and chill. You may also have the opportunity to have a meet and greet with the Mazda Race Teams (Speedsource, Riley Racing, Hypersport, Racers Edge, Roar Racing etc). Not 100% but damn near close.

We will be refining this portion in the oncoming weeks.

Only 1 thing you need to do is fill out a WAIVER, saying that if anything happens to you the park is not responsible.

ADDRESS
497 Lime Rock Road
Lakeville, CT 06039 USA

+1 860 435 5000

***Reason for pre-registering was to try and obtain some more $$$ from Mazda to sponsor catered lunches for all attendees. We were unable to get that (Come prepared), but all those that have pre-registered are guarenteed to get a Mazdaspeed Tshirt/Hat. We will def try to get extras so everyone can have some, and im pretty sure we can work that out with Mazda USA/Mazdaspeed.

Last year me and john found this nice little italian spot that has some really good heroes (eh um i mean WEDGE). I can def try and find that address and give it to you guys, its only about 15 minutes from the park.

I hope all this info helps summarize it all. I will be very busy in the oncoming weeks with projects, tests, and then Finals, so i wont be around as much.

So please come out and join the CTRA hosted meet at Limerock Park on Sunday, its FREE!.

Best Regards,

Jason, NYRA

altspace 05-06-2008 09:49 AM

I'm there for the entire event. Voluntering as well for Marlon.

john64 05-06-2008 10:04 AM

Alt, Sunday will be laid back. Have a few and some food with us!

WinningRX8Chick 05-12-2008 05:53 PM

What time should I be at the Park and Ride off the Merritt on Sunday? Are there any plans for meeting up to ride up on Saturday or Monday?

dmc27 05-13-2008 09:03 AM

10:15 am at the Stamford park & ride.

To find any caravans on the other days you should probably ask in the Limerock event thread - linked here. And mention where you would be travelling from, since I am guessing you're not currently in Michigan? lol.

john64 05-13-2008 09:24 AM

As Dennis said. We will be meeting at around 10:15 at the park & ride off the Merrit Parkway exit 35 High Ridge Rd. I just ordered up a new grill, so I will have that and some food. Bring up your favorite grub and drinks.

Oh, Jenn- welcome to the club!

WinningRX8Chick 05-13-2008 10:26 PM

Slight blonde moment.. should have realized when you said Exit 15 that I'm going to be farther North and East and it'd double my drive time to meet up with you guys there....

Thanks! Woot!

john64 05-14-2008 07:33 AM

I said exit 35 (2nd blonde moment).

dmc27 05-14-2008 10:14 AM

:lol2: nice.

I'm still undecided on my route, since it will double my drive time to go to Stamford first. But I'm leaning towards doing it anyway b/c the trip straight west is either rural routes (ie slow & lots of lights) or a circuitous route using 395 which usually has a massive police presence. Plus the caravan ride up from Stamford would be sweet. How many people are you expecting in Stamford, John?

So depending on where you are on that Sunday I could meet you somewhere along 95 south, Jenn. Where are you going to be Sunday morning?

WinningRX8Chick 05-14-2008 03:08 PM

Mother f'er! You got me.... *Consults Google Maps* Exit 15 is near Eastchester, NY... awesome.

The blonde is fake, I swear!!

I'll be in Cromwell all weekend... It's off of Rt. 9 near where 9 and 91 cross. It'd be slightly backwards to come down to 95 South then back up to the NW corner of CT.. Just about the same as meeting up with the guys in Stamford... I think the way we usually go (from Cromwell) is going down 91 to 691 to 84 until Waterbury then up 8 towards Torrington then back roads from there...

Southern CT guys: If you're coming up 15.. what exit are you guys taking off of that? If you're going to end up on 691 in Meriden, I can easily meet up with you... maybe that'd be easy for you too, dmc27.. What's the plan of action?

dmc27 05-14-2008 04:18 PM

The "short" route for me would be Rt 6 thru Hartford. Going west through CT makes it a 125 mile drive, vs. 230 if I go to Stamford then north. But the drive down Rt 6 will suck, and I would get sooo lonely. lol.

Based on the maps I'd wager John's plan is to go straight up Rt 7 to Lakeville. But that could be the same po-dunk town crap that Rt 6 would be for me. Though I have no issue w/that type of drive, b/c when you have a solid line of cars rolling through small towns it's epic coolness.

What's the planned route from Stamford, John?

john64 05-14-2008 04:20 PM

We are going to go up RT 7 a quick hit on 84 then back roads up.

Jenn, sorry to put you out like that, but it was funny.

Not sure how many yet. I do know the following.

John FB
Jason FC
Brian 8
Ed FC
Sean FB
Dennis 8 not sure if hes coming all our way

There will probably be more.

WinningRX8Chick 05-14-2008 04:27 PM

Lol I don't care, I get it all the time. I enjoy laughing at myself too..

Sounds like we might not cross paths?:dunno: No biggie if we don't, I'll definitely be in the corral...

dmc27 05-14-2008 04:28 PM

Put me on as a definite to meet you there. Rt. 7 looks like a nice drive, and at least I know I can blast down 95 & Merritt. That way I know for sure how long it'll take me to get to a meet point. Plus going west will be lots of slower roads and might save me some gas $$$ but it won't be anywhere near as much fun.

dmc27 05-14-2008 04:30 PM

^that was directed to John.

Looks like I'll meet Jenn at Limerock, then.

k, I'm leaving work

to go to work. bleh.

john64 05-16-2008 07:11 PM

NO problem Dennis, I already know your 8 cant keep up with me anyway.

Got the new grill in yesterday, all set to fire it up.

Lets make sure people bring food to grill and consume!

dmc27 05-17-2008 11:23 PM

Just to make sure there's no misunderstanding: I'm meeting you in Stamford, John. The ride through CT going straight west will suck - so I'm not going that route.

I guess we'll find out if my poor little renesis can keep up! lol.

I will just have to meet Jenn at Limerock, rather than somewhere in mid CT.

p.s. drunk posting is difficutl shit.

WinningRX8Chick 05-18-2008 01:39 AM

Agree drunk psoting sux. I think I'm meeting everyone at Lime Rock. I'll have a passenger so it won't suck so bad. So psyched.

john64 05-18-2008 06:19 AM

Ok, Dennis, sorry if i was confused.
People meeting in Stamford for the cruise up at 10:15am.

John FB
Jason FC
Brian 8
Ed FC
Sean FB
Dennis 8

Sounds good to me :)

Do you want "regular" canadian beer like Molson Ex, Labatt Blue, etc or some of the better stuff from our most excellent micro-breweries?

john64 05-19-2008 07:10 AM

Mendossa, get something good!

I spoke with Matty on the 7 board and he will be meeting us in route to the event.

10:30am departure time:

Ed FC
Sean FB

I would but I think many of us are heading up to Kent Falls for the day for a BBQ. Some of the drivers may be joining us as well.

ROTARYROCKET7 05-19-2008 08:39 PM

Just talked to ray G. When you arrive on sunday for the CTRA BBQ, you will sign a waiver at the gate. Then you will follow signs for the Mazdaspeed Corral/Tent Area, this is where the CTRA BBQ meet will take off.

See ya there.

john64 05-19-2008 08:40 PM

Jay, your faster then I. The Sunday BBQ meet should start around 12:00pm at the Mazdaspeed Corral area (ask at the gate). The address for Lime Rock is 60 White hollow Rd, Lakeville, CT.

The southern CT people will having a pre meet and cruse at 10:15am at the usual spot in Stamford (leaving at 10:30am). The Park & Ride off the Merritt Parkway exit 35 (High Ridge Rd).
We will then be meeting some more people in route at the Courtsey Mobil Gas & Food 818 Federal Rd, Brookfield, CT 06804 at around 11:00am. Make sure you show up early so we can make the run as fast as possible.

Please bear with us as we will have a large group going, we may be a little late.

Mendossa 05-23-2008 03:52 PM

Packin' up for tomorrow's drive... for those who're interested, I'm bringing a few bottles for the Sunday BBQ! :beerchug:
