Hey Columbus 8'ers! Long time, no post!

Anybody seen the 40th Anniversary 8? I love the exterior color, but I'm not so sold on the interior leather, otherwise I'm thinking of trading in my silver '05. Since they only made 1000, will that help with resale value?

Also, I FINALLY found a beater - a 92 accord. Wondering what you guys with beaters do with your 8 during the winter. Do you drive it except for snow days, or do you garage it all winter from December through March? And if you do park it all winter, what do you do to keep it in good running condition during the down time? Thanks!

During the winter season, the 8 is garaged and only comes out when it's above freezing, sunny, and only for short trips. Still have to wipe her down because of the salt. You'll need a portable charger.

Cool

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gt as my beater... the Rx sits in the Garage next to the Trans am and two motorcycles... its a Beotch to keep all of those charged and running during the winter!!! get a portable charger and a little bit of stable gas treatment.

For us truly brave souls, we get out there in the cold winter and wash our cars...

It wouldn't stop me either if I had an Exped. with chains!

I think maybe the guy with the Winning Blue has moved into the 'hood. I've passed him the last few days on the main road in our subdivision. Maybe I'll take Teddy for a walk and see if I can track him down and bring him into the cult. We could use a blue or two to balance things out.

At least he waves, so maybe there's a chance.

How can you say "No." to Teddy?

Maybe if you shave a small rotary symbol in his fur it will close the deal. That or he'll think we're all nuts and tell you he'll call the cops if you ever come by his house again. Ha!

Hey Twisted,

This is Will from the Rita's meet.

How much would you charge me to help me install my new shocks and springs, if I brought the beer and pizza?

I have new Mazdaspeed Shocks and Eibach Springs. Have had them for about 2 months now. I was going to try myself, but I'm leary of damaging my ABS sensors. So someone with more experience than me, would be my preference.

Thanks!
Will

dude i would love to tackle any adventure! and shocks and springs really arent that hard just time consuming I wouldnt be able to complete the job fully (meaning) I cant give you an alignment or 100 percent check your chamber so you would have accelerated and uneven tire wear and would also negitivly <~ms affect your handling until you did. so i couldnt in good conscience charge you or do it with out completing a job i undertake sorry bro.. tho pizza does sound great!

It's cool.

I was planning to have the alignment and other stuff done about a week after the springs and struts were installed. I was just hoping for some help, seeing as the dealerships want to charge me upwards of $850 just to replace them.

Couple of things up for sale in Columbus if anyone is interested. I am located on the east side of town in Pataskala near Reynoldsburg. Will post it in the for sale but wanted to see if someone local wanted these.

Set of brand new NGK plugs for RX8 from Mazda. $50

Case of Idemitsu rotary premix minus 2 quarts (will include the 1/2 quart I still have.) $40.

Thanks

Matt

GTFO Matt...I'm in Pataskala too! Whereabouts are you? Have I seen your car about? Oh, and I might be interested in taking that Idemitsu off your hands...I'm down to my last quart and a half. Are you giving up premixing, or just switching products?

I live north of Broad Street on Taylor Road. I used to have an 06 VR GT but recently had to give it up so that I could get a newer tow vehicle for my track miata. Love the car but love racing a little more.

Anyway, just let me know on the idemitsu as I would love to not have to hassle with shipping this stuff.

Thanks

I wonder about Anthony's mileage - what's the mpg @ 110? Flat out?
cruise, 67. best ive ever gotten, and ive only broke 22 one other time. its amazing what keeping the rpms down can do for the mileage, ive tried to keep it under 3k city/3.5k highway and am getting 20-21mpg consistently whereas before i was at 16-18.

of course, im fairly confident i could get it down to 10mpg again just as easily!

Nice...I have a Miata myself. I might have to take a peek at yours. 8) I'll be down that way on Saturday if you're available and can buy the oil from you then if you're agreeable.
