I'm in Summersville, about 15 minutes north of the Bridge. Be forewarned, since 9-11, no one drives across the Bridge on Bridge Day and US Route 19 is closed for that section, traffic is re-routed and it's a mess!!

If you want to plan a ride, include this in your planning. The trip over Gauley Mountain from Gauley Bridge to Ansted is a pretty good rush (if you're not in a bunch of traffic). Did that trip the other day from Charleston back to Summersville (taking care of Rex's recall).

Actually, what I want to do is a Hawk's Nest run after Bridge Day.

I was thinking of doing Bridge Day from over your way, through Summersville.
We usually arrive @5 AM, park at the outlook, and walk on.
The Bridge reopens around 4:PM, I think...
