I shopped at several Mazda dealers including 128 Mazda. I knew exactly what it was I was looking for and wasn't going to 'settle' for a car because it was in stock. If they didn't have the color and options I wanted, I would go on to the next dealer (the internet is a wonderful tool). In the end, it all came down to price and Mazda Gallery won my business.

BTW, just had my first service done there and didn't have any problems with them.

I may be biased, but it's the best of the Ivies. World class education, no core curriculum, and probably the most interesting and passionate student body I have come across. The professors actually teach the classes! I had the time of my life there, and I'm missing it like crazy, 10 months out...

Definitely true too.

However, Brown is known to breed altruistic-hippy-save-the-world-types who don't make money a top priority. Of course, this doesn't apply to all Brown students, but it is a reason why Brown has one of the smallest endowments among the ivy league universities. We don't have professional schools that churn out rich alumni who give back to the university. No law school, no business school, and a medical school with alumni who practice in under represented areas and in parts of the world where medical expertise is needed the most.

I've heard 128 does have a great selection, but not the best service. I live in Brighton as well, and I bought from Wellesely and get all service done there. The sales team was good, the "delivery specialist" was awsome - made sure ALL possible questions were answered before I took delivery of the car. The service department seems pretty good, we'll see how they do on my tranny (its in now), I haven't had any arguments with them at all, appointments are easy to get, and they have free loaners ($5 gas fee) for regular maintenence and warranty work.

Wellesely doesn't have the largest selection, but when I was looking last year, they did have the EXACT color/trim/options I was looking for and gave me a great deal. (check out inventories from www.mazdausa.com). They went above and beyond on helping me with financing as well. My credit was not spectacular, but they musta came up with 5 different financing deals based around what I said I could pay and the price I talked them down to.

BTW, what color/options are you looking to get? It'll be cool to see another 8 around Brighton! I haven't seen any except mine there yet.

 

I spent some years at Brown as well and I have no regrets.

I brought my car there. I went to 2 different salesmen and all I have to say is don't talk to Bill, talk to Larry. Bill's the one with the mustage and looks like in the mid 40s. The dude's a dick, stay away from him.

 

I kinda felt that Wellesley Mazda had a solid service. The "customer coordinator" guy was really cool too. I talked to him because both of us share the same first language, Russian. I liked the sales rep as well. They had only one car that fit my budget: a red base model. Then I went to 128 Mazda and those guys were ******.

The guy who greeted me outside was a deuche bag. He kept on telling me how they were the best; however, when it came to the deal he did not want to talk to me because I was not ready to buy that day. He yelled at me and could not give me any time to talk. He pissed me off to the point, where I was not ready to discuss the deal with him anymore. Apparently, he thought that monthly payments are related to the price of the car. I kept telling him that I was interested in the bottom line, not the monthly payment. However, he did not listen. After talking about "monthly payments vs. the actual price of the car" for fifteen minutes, I put my price down and said, "Look, here is what I would like to pay." He took at look at the price, brought the sheet to his boss and then came back saying that the price was too low and how I did not have a clue of what I was asking for. I left them. I will never go back there. Those guys insulted my intelligence.
