I agree with Loki. The height may be an issue if your 6 feet and up. I'm 6'
1'' and barely have enough room to put my hand on top of my head. S2000 has alot of aftermarket support when compared to an 09 and up RX8. I guess it depends on what class you are racing in and how many mods they will let you do to your car...

Thanks for the input. I was really hoping that I could fit in an Rx8 more easily then the S2000 (height wise). Does the non-sunroof Rx8 have more head room?
And good points about modifying. However, in the beginning and for the near foreseeable future I probably wouldn't do any upgrades unless I think it will help handling or make the car more reliable. Plus I would only be doing hpde's until i get enough experience so modifications and class running is a second thought.
