Are any of the dealers hiking their prices over sticker and are people actually paying it? Are dealers acting like PITA's when it comes to allowing test drives?

After seeing a new RX-8 in person last week, I've spent a considerable amount of time daydreaming about it and I look foward to driving one soon.

i dont believe anyone near us here in upstate ny is raising any prices, in a matter of fact i worked it out to get an extra 500 off of my rx8, i should be picking it up tomorrow. i know belieze mazda called me sunday about a few being in (springfield ma). we have a red one here in albany that they will let you drive....they didnt give me a hassle at all.

I saw one in the Balise showroom over the weekend. They were closed though. My wife bought a Protege5 their about 6 months ago and the sales manager "promised" a RX-8 test drive when they get them in. I'll be heading over their this week sometime.

i believe they have 2 8's a red and a black. i did call them and karina from there called me on sunday about it. she is the best....if you ever buy from them, go to her, she will give you a break on the price and is wicked nice!

That is too funny!!!! Karina is the girl we bought our Protege5 from dude!! We hit it off real well, then got into some arguements, then everything worked out perfect. Basically, the typical car purchase.

Ever meet Karina in person? She is a total pleasure to deal with instead of the typical car salesman.

that is too funny. i havent met her first hand or anything...she has been one of the best salespeople to talk to on the phone though. she offered me 500 off msrp also if i "pre order" but i would have to say that she would give up the 500 also if it wasnt pre ordered. that is funny. now you are making me think that i should take a trip just to take a look at her.....she does sound nice!!!

I went Balise last night. Karina was helping someone else so I talked to another salesman. I knew twice as much about the RX8 as he did, but he was a decent guy. They woudlnt let me take one out for a drive though. The black one is sold, and the red one is the sales managers. I can't understand why I wasnt allowed to drive the red one. I was told they are getting a bunch more in a few weeks and I will be able to drive one of those.
My wife and I both loved the car though. They are REAL nice.

Karina is real nice and I would of rather of dealt with her.

that is great....the dealer here in rensselear...cooley has been toying with me for quite a while now...they have said they ordered my car for weeks now, but still no vin number. orange mazda has the car and close to the specs i want on it in, and i came within $350 of the "deal". i'm sure i will get a call today! if i do and you want to make your way down....take mine for a spin.

Where about in upstate NY you located? I am in Belchertown MA which is 25 minutes north-east of Springfield.
Thanks for the invite, however, I'm not in a real rush and I can wait to beat on one of the Balise cars.
