Any local tuners?

Hey guys I have been thinking of going FI. I searched around on the ne forum and I know there is some good tuners on the east coast but I am trying to find someone more local. Could you guys point me in the right direction. I live around Hanover, Pa So Im like an hour from Baltimore, MD an hour from Harrisburg, Pa. Also is there anyone that has a car with a greddy kit thats local to me, I would love to ride in one to feel it out before I go for it.
Thanks

The treads on the different ecu's would require days for me to read. I am not sure if I am buying new or used yet. So from what I read e-manage ultimate is good enough to run on and there is more tuners for that? The cobb looks like a good unit too. I guess what I am asking, is the emanage ultimate reliable and a good safe ecu?

there are two ECU lately ppl use for their greddy turbo, which are
1) AP = is provided by MzdaManiac, and i believe it's a good ECU, and mazdamaniac will give you the tuning MAP in it, but you have to tell him what you have inside the car, so he can download the right map for you. also, if you use AP< i think you have to change the intake from greddy to upgraded on because they are operate by MAF. that's what i know so far, but it's a good ECU

2) INT-X = i don't know who provide it now, but i have one and it was tuned by KDR by doing the dyno. i like it, but i still haven't tried teh AP yet because i have my own set up of turbo, so i just stick with INT-x since some one can tune it for me.

email mazdamaniac for more information, i know he is a busy guy because he is always. or email mysql for more informations

Thanks you for the info on the ecu's. It makes it alot easier when its broken down vs. reading those huge threads.

I am looking into either a new greddy kit with the emanage ultimate and the other kit I found has the int-x. I emailed kdr rotary and they have been very very helpful and said he would be glad to help me out and tune my car. They also tune emanage ultimate there.

Has anyoine actually got any real life out of the greddy kit before the turbo blew? Honestly I cannot see myself doing anothing other than the greddy fixes and stock wastegate boost. I found a brand new greddy kit for $3350 shipped does that sound like a good deal?

Thanks guys

what i can suggest you is you should buy an used turbo kit which sometimes come with everything (gauges, fixes, and now EMS or with EMS soemtimes) and you can build it up your safe to a safety factor. if you just wanna have small HP increase, around 260 - 280 WHP, sticks with greddy. just wait until pppl sell the used one, which you can use the rest of money to buy the equipments to complete the installations. look for it in for sale thread, but becareful, talk to ppl about the seller before make a deal. pm me if you need help, i will try to help you out

your best bet is to go with a used greddy kit, in fact there is a used kit on ebay right now for $1.8k.

most people are getting 12-15k miles out of the stock greddy turbo.

mazdamaniac sells an upgrade kit for the greddy kit which will push the potential way up (350+ hp) range if tuned correctly. however, if you want a modest 260 hp then you should stick with the greddy turbo and just rebuild it when the time comes.

the accessport is a reflashing device - it makes for a much cleaner install but currently the tuner crowd is VERY limited. Jeff (mazdamaniac) may be a genius but he is also 2,500 miles away from you.. any tuning will be done remotely and it's just not realistic imo to get the very best tune like that. if you stick with a microtech unit (interceptor x) you will find alot more tuners locally that would be able to tune it for you.

There are a couple of decent options, but I would highly recommend you steer clear of E-manage. I've never talked to someone who thought it was a good option for ECU management. When the GReddy kit first came out people didn't really have any option so they used it, but it's really a piece of crap. Int-X works decently well, and there are more people you could probably find locally that can tune with it, but for best safety margin, the AccessPORT is the way to go. You cannot match the reliability of using the factory computer. Intercepting or piggybacking signals can work, but its safer to use the ECU as designed. I don't think I would have even considered turboing my car if it wasn't for the AP.

Thanks for all the info guys. Soo if I happen to find a kit with the int-x I am more likely to have a safe tune? Does anyone besides kdr rotary tune the int-x??

(JPR) hey! thats where my FD got tuned .
it really depends on your cash Flow.if you dont mind pushing 6 psi @ 265HP with basic bolt ons(greddy kit, straight pipe exhaust, gauges)and stick with the greddy tuned e-manage,u'll run RICH as hell and backfire like chinese NEW YEAR but its awsomeee.
but if u got deep pocket(MONEY MONEY MONEY!)u can go straight to mazport stage 3 kit,and ur set,,or HELL go 3 ROTOR mmm 3 ROTOR. again GOODLUCK with your choice and hope to see it @ ROTORJAM this summer ... weeeeee

STEVEN U C()#% why couldnt u pick me up when u n Benny went snowboarding???
