any good mechanics in NY

I live in queens and was wondering if anyone knows a good mechanic that specializes in the rx8. My check engine light came on and it reads intake manifold tuning valve stuck open. I read its a pain to repair so im gonna take it to a mechanic but aside from the dealer.... Im looking for a shop to get it fixed. Thanx in advance.

There are a lot of shops that specialize in rotaries, but they are often more oriented towards tuning and performance modifications, not general service. On the other hand they can surely do the job for you, but it will be expensive.
The dealer will probably be able to do it right, but this too will be expensive. A stuck SSV valve is not uncommon but it usually just needs to be cleaned, no parts replaced. So the cost would be perhaps 2-3 hours of labor, but that's it. Get an estimate, but this is probably the route i'd take.
I would not recommend bringing it to a random mechanic unless you get a good reference from someone on here...

Just my opinions. Dealers are expensive and often bad but in this case it might be the best way.

Or you can try to cycle the SSV with your hand to break up any carbon - then seafoam the motor and g drive the **** out of it.

9 times out of 10 - that fixes it.

Thanx for the responses... I purchased an aftermarket warranty good for 100000 miles or 5 years so money isnt an issue as im well within my warranty period and that part will most definately be covered. I saw the video on how to repair it and if not for the warranty, i would certainly take the time and do it myself but its real cold out (as most of u know) so working on the rx8 (or any car for that matter) isnt ideal. If it were spring/summer/fall.... Then problem would have been solved but i figured i payed for the warranty so might as well take advantage. That and the fact that im leaking antifreez from a hose. Its an extremely small leak but non the less, ill have that fixed as well while im there.
So at this point, im just looking for a reputable shop. I tried calling t and r racing and they told me they would get back to me (this was 2 days ago). I could take it to the dealership but everytime i go there, theres like 1 guy helping 4 people. The wait on the lines at great adventures are shorter than the dealership.
As far as cleaning the engine, i did the seafoam about 1-2 years ago. As a matter of fact, i posted a video on this forum here. So in essence, i just want a reputable service guy. I really dont want to travel to distant like PA but then also, i was hoping not to go to a shop where id have to go back to them soon after for a related problem caused by them. I guess ill have to press my luck with the dealership on northern blv where it kinda borders queens/long island.
Thanx again for the help guys. Ill let u know if anything changes.
