Sorry to hear about the trouble, Wicked. Please keep us posted on how Tirerack responds. I would hope that they'd take them back with no questions asked.
I came within a mouse click of buying rims and tires from them last month, and decided at the last second that I was going to hold off for this year. I bought rims and tires for an M3 from them many years ago. It went smoothly as far as the fit, but afterward I wished I had gotten some better advice on the tires. The Blizzacks were absolutely great in deep snow, but were horrible in wet and dry conditions. The M3 simply had too much torque for those tires, as I discovered when I pulled out of Mueller Tire where I had them installed. As I was turning left out of their lot, I hit the accelerator and proceeded to do a donut in the middle of Payne Avenue in downtown Cleveland.

Tire Rack Update ok so I called Tire Rack and and talked to Mason within an hour he informed me of the problem with the fact that those rims should have been able to be selected since I have the GT and it has bigger break calipers. So he sent me 4 new rims that would fit. The best part is they where 10 dollars more each they eat the cost and eat the cost of shipping the new rims to me and then picking them back up. I did have to spend 60 bucks betting them put on and balanced. It was an honest mistake and Tirerack to the good route and made things right. So I would buy from them again. Now I only have to deal with the fact is the past couple of days I will drive and then after about 20 minutes the TPMS light will start flashing. I did the whole turn on the ignition then turn it off and let it sit for 15 minutes and then drive for 10 minutes to re register the sensors. Now I bought those with the tirerack tires are those the correct ones?

^^That really sucks!
A flashing TPMS usually means a malfunction with the sensor itself.
You did the correct thing to register the ID codes. And as long as you were driving 16MPH or more for 10 mins, then I might suspect an issue with one of the sensors. They are pretty fragile and can break easily.
Also, did you verify that a TPMS wheel units can be mounted to your new tires?

My parents live over by city hall so you will see me over there from time to time in the summer in my Galaxy Gray 8. But don't confuse me for the guy that lives a couple hundred feet from them with another Galaxy Gray 8. He has the Rotary inserts on front and rear and I do not.

Hey Jon316g I think i read on another forum that you had your power steering go? And that if you cleaned it, it was fixable. Mine has gone but then it came back on the day I took it into the dealer and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I actually took it to a dealer in North West Ohio, and was wondering if you ever took it to a North East where they maybe knew more about the problem? Or did you just skip the whole dealer thing and do it yourself?

When I lived out in Strongsville I was forced to go to Auto Accents once. Nice guys...nice clean shop...expensive though. Something specific you want to know Jeff?
And just in case anyone was looking for a tinting place in West Cleveland. BulletProof AutoGlass does some nice work for the Cleveland6Club. I ended up going to Auto Details in Elyria and had a great job done there. In and out...same day...and they even ordered the tint I requested instead of forcing me to use what they had in stock. Wonderful work...couldn't be happier.

Far as dealerships, I've only trusted Cascade Mazda in Cuyahoga Falls. Did the dealership look at the correct connectors when you brought it in (I have a pic of the location in the link above on post #4)? The contacts are so thin that you almost have to bend it down slightly to make a good connection. I actually did that with a flat-head screwdriver and it worked fine afterwards. I could have kept it that way, but just decided to splice the cables together "just in case".

Ahhh Cascade they do seem great it's where i bought my car from. The dealership i took it to was probably under a time crunch, I told them i needed it back that day since it was the only car I had. So they checked the power steering itself, as well as the computer to see if it registered why the light came on. But they said the computer diagnostic said nothing had ever happened. They then said just try to bring it in if it ever happens again while it's happening and they will fit my car in no matter while it's doing it, and if they can't fix it while it's doing it that day they'll give me a loaner car. So they were really nice but I don't think they looked at the connectors, and i don't think they'd dealt with it before. They attributed it to the -5 degree weather we were having I think.
And after reading your thread I feel confident to either point out the problem to a dealership if it happens again, or have my friend who does wiring for a living splice them together. Because i've never really done any wiring and not sure i'd be comfortable with it.
Thanks for help Jon and for digging up that thread, i think it was different from the one i had previously read.
