Well.... when I got home from our meet and told the wife I was going out to Eastlake the next day, she hit me with a good question,
"So who is going to watch the 6-year-old while I'm at work?"
I completely forgot she worked until 1:30pm :banghead:

On another note... she liked the idea of having the next meet at XTC.
Just not sure if they offer Guinness!!! :D:

DeViLbOi 07-19-2008 06:48 AM

Sounds like you have a ride-along already lined up. :P

Even with the poor scenery last night was fun. That is the last time Josh gets to pick though. Sheesh!

What the heck is that? It sounds like some sort of swingers bar:3some:, like if I go there I might wake up the next morning with a headache and not remember what happened the night before. Then, as I head to the bathroom to relieve myself only to find that it now burns when I pee, I'll find a tattoo of some girl's name that's not my wife's on my left ass cheek. :slap:

Whooooo! I don't know if I'll be going to that one.

XTC is a strip club in Akron.
It was brought up during the meet because Doc didn't like the "scenery".
The guy-to-girl ratio was pretty bad, but got a little better at The Irish Pub a few doors down!
So I told Doc that if he wants scenery, I know a place! :)

went well. About 45 cars. Dan clocked a 37 in marks car to win bstock. Mark was only a half second behind. Gopher and I both put up 41s. Fun time.

Gopherage 07-19-2008 06:42 PM

Both 41s but you still beat me ;) Thanks for not pointing it out, but i gotta give you the credit.

Bah. Hundredths of a second means someone breathed a little harder on my car as it passed by.

Anyway it's the one and only time I'll run BS with this car. Intake went on today so now there's no turning back. Oddly enough I barely notice the sound at all. I'll have to play with my car a bit to see where it really shows up. I only drove home and wasn't hitting any real high RPMs so I'll poke it up hot tomorrow and see if it's more noticeable. Course there's always the parking garage in the morning to really catch sounds. Probably it's more noticeable w/o an AM exhuast.

I do feel a bit more from the butt dyno. Definitely needed a new air filter so I probably got a decent amount of HP had I just replaced the air filter. But I'll pretend it's the duct/intake. :)

docgatorx8er 07-21-2008 04:47 AM

Ryan, did you take a look at that exhaust vibration?

Not really. I checked underneath to make sure nothing was loose/off but I need to jack it up to see if I can move a hanger to tighten it up.

You said it was just the right one, correct? Because the left and right seem to have almost equal movement. Neither one is overly tight, they both have flex, but neither is approaching the shrouds.

RK 07-21-2008 12:39 PM

BTW Doc in terms of mods for BS I think your thread got deleted. Tough moderators in there. Anywhere here's the link describing a very good exhaust:

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-racing-25/single-side-exhaust-59424/

There's a thread similar to the one you wanted here:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...hlight=exhaust

Light wheels, stock size, +/- 1/4" offset.
Any size DOT tire that fits the stock wheel.
Any front swaybar, that also includes the front links and bushings.
Shocks, up to double adjustable with remote res.
Any cat-back exhuast.
Drop-in air filter.
Ignition, coils, wires and plugs are open.
Thermostat.
Fluids.
Brake pads.
Alignment.
Interesting reading that I may have had an illegal BS mod on Saturday since I have the 'dealer installed' spare tire option.

Yea...who knows...you might have had more traction because of the added weight in your trunk. :P

For those of you that might be interested. The c6c is meeting at 7PM at Quaker Steak&Lube in ValleyView on the 24th. They are a fun group of folk and doc...I promise better scenery...then again...you could probably find better scenery anywhere.

I think I'm going to head up there after work. It's basically on the way and for the moment I'm free on Thursday. Did you already pick your car up?

Vyndictive 07-21-2008 01:54 PM

Hey everyone, sorry I came out too meet you all in June and then dropped off the face of the earth. You know how it goes... You meet a girl, buy a motorcycle, ditch the girl for a better girl, discover your tires are balder than Captain Picard (oh yes, that is a Star Trek Reference) Visit Wisconsin, buy new tires.... etc...

Anyway, it sounds like I missed the club meeting. Is there one planned for the near future? I'd like to make it out there seeing as how I still haven't mustered up the courage to take the car out for a trial at autocross...

Also, has anyone had any work done at Horizon Motorsports / Audio in the Canton Area? I have been checking them out and wanted to ask anyone here first.

PS
devilboi... sorry about your car. That stinks... okay: quick poll: When my car was stolen they gave me a stripped 4 door focus. It didn't even have a center arm rest.
Would you rather have that cobalt? Or the focus?

I deleted the link. Some idiot started being rude and I don't need it. I was trying to help. Life's too short for that.

Thanks for the links I'll look at them.

Yes, the tire is illegal in BS. Again, locally, nobody cares. But it is not a factory item. I had that discussion in the forum previously.

Bottom line, nobody cares until you start coming in first. Then they care. I took the tire out. Extra weight anyways. It just unbolts. You could take it out for races and put it back in.

They are probably right around the same value. I think the foci would have a little more under the hood though. Hopefully my car will be done tonight or tomorrow.

Oh I took the tire out but it looks like you have to remove that bar across that holds the tire to still be BS legal. No idea if it's easy to remove or not.

Doesn't really matter since I'm done running BS anyway. :)

Vyndictive - glad to see you're still around. Figured that speeding ticket was enough bad luck to keep you from heading back North. We don't have any meets planned but we've been trying to get something together monthly at least so look for something next month.

Also check out the thread in the MW forum about the HPDE being set up for Mazda owners by Marlon if you're interested. Should be a good time. Set for October sometime @ Beavers Run near (in?) PA.

It just bolts in. No problem. I wouldn't worry about it Ryan.

I think I'm gonna do the exhaust thing. That makes a lot of sense to me. When are you getting that lift for my garage?

Just once I'd like them to crack down on stupid. slow drivers who get in the left lane, begin a pass, and then match the speed of the car next to them slowing down everyone behind them as they begin the process known as a 'Traffic Jam'.

Ticketing the guy behind that schmuck for being too 'aggresive' by getting within 3 car lengths or by passing to the right is just stupid.

RK 07-21-2008 03:29 PM

BTW - I remember reading about the results the last time they did this. I thought the best part was that they arrested x number of people but that they included in the news report that one person was speeding so fast (120mph) that the cops didn't even bother going after him.

So if you want to avoid a ticket....

;)
