Haven't seen the red or white one around here. However, I do have a grey one and I do live within walking distance of 91 and 20. There is a black one that lives between me and there as well...haven't talked to him yet. But yea...I'll be around this weekend.
Cool thanks
but I'm sure this thing is all good. the person selling it kept it all up-to-date with the recalls/tsb's. and he knew a thing or two about the rotary.

Welcome! You'll have to come down to the boneyard on the 24th and show off your new ride!
The Willoughby are seems to be pretty saturated with RX8s. I went to Lowe's on Wed. and there was a white one with black wheels and heavy tint parked out at the end of the lot. My wife said there was a female in the driver's seat.
On the way home I saw a Ti Grey one at the intersection of 91 and 20; again, a female driver,
and a red one parked at Fitworks as seen from 91.
That made for 4 RX8s within a minute of each other. For a second there I felt like I was driving a Cobalt!
Then I remembered I wasn't in a Cobalt because they're way more faster than my car. Damn.

So I started using my Cobb Stage 1 tune on my Accessport today. Butt dyno says it's pulling a little stronger. My AFRs seem to have changed a little but not a whole lot. Now I'm usually in mid 14s on cruise and occasionally touching 15 AFR. Idle also has a little higher AFR. Only hit WOT once or twice but the AFR seemed to be only getting to around 11. Pretty sure I was getting in the 10s yesterday on WOT pulls.
I'm gonna do some logging on 5k-9k pulls in 2nd or 3rd gear this weekend as opposed to trying to see the AP when I'm gunning it. Assuming AFR and throttle are all I need to record.

I installed my Fumoto Quick Oil Drain Valve today and did a Zoom Zoom cleaning. I think I screwed up the Zoom Zoom. I didn't remove the windshield washer fluid container and didn't have my socket wrench so I had to flip the can upside down. Pretty sure that mean I barely got any in there. So I got one weak plume of smoke on my first 6k rev and that was about it. Plus I got a CEL telling me my eccentric shaft was acting eccentric. But I cleared that **** and it's all good now. Purrs deeply like an angry beehive.
And fwiw anyone thinking about getting an intake - I'm pretty sure I'm gonna sell my RB and go with an AEM. I'm gonna have to at some point anyway and the RB (w/duct) are selling here for $250+shipping. That pretty much pays for the AEM. But if anyone here is thinking about getting the RB let me know and I'll probably give it (plus install help!) up for less.
Too bad they don't make a yellow AEM.
Obviously this is something you have to do for the zoom-zoom cleaner, but the PCM didn't like it.
The CEL would have turned off on its own after a couple drive cycles, but clearing it right away is something I do too just to be safe.
I'm not even gonna ask why you're getting rid of your RB for the AEM.

Theorized Reason 1:
He realized (like me) that $439 is way too much to pay for a single-digit horsepower gain.
Theorized Reason 2:
He saw my video from Nelson's or an autox and realized mine (formerly yours) sounds pretty damn cool.

I couldn't agree more. That's the primary reason I stopped selling parts. People thought that I got the parts for free or for 5% of the retail value. They expected me to "hook them up" with prices that were comparable to 'it fell off the truck' prices. It just doesn't (legally) happen. Also, sales tax had to be added for Ohio residents to remain a legitimate business; people just weren't buying stuff, no matter how close to wholesale cost I sold it.
Near the end I was selling nearly everything with a 0% profit margin just to move product. That's why I quit. I had become a charity organization -helping people buy parts at wholesale cost- instead of a being a money making business. It was depressing.
That's why I hesitate to get back into it. There's not much money to be made at all. The plus side of it, though, is that I could help out you guys.

I don't want to come off like a douche here and I understand where you are coming from Tony. However, some of the discounts I have heard that are being given is in the couple dollar range. At that point I don't see the point in reselling the part. It seems like more of a hassle then it is really worth. Parts for the 8 are expensive...straight up. Low demand with the unique part just drive up that price and as owners of the car we should expect it. I would expect companies to mark up parts more than a couple bucks though. Even at 5% markup everyone should come out happy.
I had priced out a few sets of coilovers and the one I got a quote on (KW's) wasn't all that great of a deal. If it truely was his cost, then maybe he is not getting them at the lowest cost possible.
Case in point, the price I got for them was only 49.95 lower then another store that sells them online. By the time I would factor in tax and shipping it would cost me more to buy them from BHR since the other store that sells them has free shipping....
I dunno, moot point I guess.

As I mentioned, I was at a point where I was selling products AT wholesale cost to customers just to move product. I know it does sound like a fruitless task, but it's very important (if done only for a short period of time) to maintain a relationship with your distributors. If you stop buying from them, or they see a significant drop in volume, they'll either up your prices or cut ties with you altogether. It's the nasty world of retail.
I know you think that parts should be marked up more than a couple of dollars, but the harsh reality is that they can't be, at least not if they want to sell those parts. Manufacturers have tried setting "minimum advertised prices", or M.A.P. prices forever. The problem is that they just don't work. There's always going to
a dealer out there who passes along lower prices just to make a sale. The "PM me for the best price" tactic, or the "call for the lowest price" is a loophole around the M.A.P. Then there's the distributors themselves that sell their products on Ebay at or below the prices that they sell to dealers! Competition is just too stiff unless you're a big box store or have a large following of loyal customers.
The selling of the actual part is not where the money is made. It's the install work that pays the bills and helps put a little money in the owner's pocket.
If you let me know what you need I can see if I can get it to you any cheaper.
Its the other way around. I just ordered my AEM for my setup. It's a really good idea because it keeps the stock tube sizeing unlike the stock greddy maf adapter which goes from a 3 to 3.5 inch diameter in only a few inches causing turbulence and general issues with idle. Combine that with the filter sitting in the engine bay and it just SUCKS.
so i don't think i'm going to be going after that silver one as i mentioned earlier. only because it's automatic. decided that i'm only going to be getting a sports car if it's manual. i can see myself getting an automatic and regretting it later and wishing it was a manual.
i found a manual one that sparked my interest right away. had less mileage, and was cheaper than most of the automatics i came across. so like an idiot i went to go check it out on a SUNDAY. for some reason, i completely forgot that most dealers are closed on sunday's >_<.
everything seemed fine on the outside, minus a few areas where it was scratched/chipped paint from rocks (figure that's from age and it being an '05).
but for some unknown reason i'm getting a weird feeling from the car >.> as in like, the previous owner probably didn't know what he/she was doing with it. that's when i thought of that quote from above, since i don't know a lot about the car myself yet, was wondering if someone could check it out with me. maybe meet me up at the dealer? or you could roll with me so you don't have to waste gas. i just want to make sure i'm getting the right car. i'm getting really tired of looking around, and kind of hoping this is the one.
here is the link to the car. I'm going tomorrow (monday) again, i'm going to be going there at 11 am. since i can't later on in the day. if there is anyone that has free time around there, please let me know. i will check here again later tonight and tomorrow morning before I leave to the dealer.

Well the owner couldn't have beat it up THAT bad in 37k miles. Also, I see at least one aftermarket part on there being that K&N Typhoon V.2 intake. Looks solid to me, just make sure you test drive the thing and redline it a couple times and see how it reacts. If you aren't getting smooth power at WOT you can assume there is an issue with it.
Mostly what Danc said about the AEM. The driving force is that most of the folks doing their own tuning are not using the RB and while I understand the RB to be basically the same air flow as stock I'll feel more comfortable with the AEM.
Plus it gives me a chance to see what a different intake would feel like. I still feel like the RB gave me a noticeable bump in power so it'll be interesting to see if the AEM feels the same. And it's easier to work around in the engine bay.
The fact that it also sounds more aggressive and looks better also help though I wouldn't waste money on just that. But it's down the road here. I gotta get a lot of other stuff done first.
Well drive it for a few miles and let it warm up (needle on the water temp to just under half of max temp) and then go ahead and give her a 2nd gear redline pull. Don't want to get off on the wrong foot with her.
Be careful with the head clearance on that car. Depending on how tall you are (and how your body is proportioned) the sunroof may cause you some hassles if you ever want to wear a helmet on the track or autocrossing.
