Color of mine is Brilliant Black and I will be in Lake Placid as long as there is nothing planned with Fiancee's family after her grad school graduation.

Oh jesh.. turning into a family meet now to haha.. Like how this is turning into a real legit meet. Hell I think the first "meet" I went to was the NH Car show and we had 10 8's, then the bridge run we had 12, then the IMax meet we had 15 give or take I believe?

This will probably be my doomsday statement but: Never found much use for NAV. Thats why I didn't buy one with it installed. Road signs and maybe a map every once and a while have never failed me!

I'm hoping so! This would indeed be the largest run I have ever been on.

Just a thought on some of the postings on splitting the group up... For one - I think the show of numbers is part of the big thrill - isn't it?

I understand the situation we had at the covered bridges run - but that was unique - I think, in that we had to make a U turn after we crossed the bridge, and had to come back through the same bridge, and hence the clog!!!

Wouldn't having a car with a radio spaced out within the convoy help keep the bunch together - that way there won't be a need for the tail enders to ratchet up in order to catch up with the lead bunch. With good communication, I think the bunch can be kept tight.

I have two radios available - of course - one for me :-), but the other I can loan to another car. I think if one in every 5 cars has a radio, that would work!?!

This is a good suggestion! I agree that we shouldn't have the same clog because we won't be doing U-turns and won't be going through many major towns.

True BUT.. big but here really. Difference this time around is that few of the participants are going to be bringing their kids so some will be more lax in speed were as people say like Chrism, Drk, and myself are gonna be going a tad faster than them. Why personaly I think a split group would be good cause those that wish to take it easy can and those that wanna feel their cars grip can

Speaking of grip.... I'm gonna highjack my own thread here,

Since I drive so much and so agressively... I BURN through tires like crazy so I am looking for an inexpensive yet good gripping tire with good tread wear. Yeah I know I know, you want long treadwear you sacrifice grip. I was looking at the NEXEN N3000's and they seem like a very good buy. I looked on some other forums and heard some good things about them. Anyone have an opinion?

You could look into Kuhmo escta spt's. Tire rack has them for 95 a pop, and they were excellent tires. Good wear, excellent grip wet and dry, and quit for those still running OEM's...

It is a much nicer tread - looks way more aggressive.

Do you know what the route change will be now that we're heading to LP to stay for the night? I'll try and modify/calculate the map sometime this week.

The only route plan I see is going to be heading up towards Lake George instead of Amsterdam before cutting across to Route 30.

Almost forgot - I met a guy from Mass at the *gasp* car wash last week and mentioned it to him. He had a VR, and seemed interested. Told him how to find this thread, so maybe we'll have another VR.
