Was this the AP supercat? A regular midpipe without a cat will always throw a CEL. An AccessPort can hide the particular code, however. Advantages of a midpipe, or a high-flow cat are to free up a restriction of exhaust flow. This is typically the biggest / easiest HP gain in a N/A RX-8. If this was the AP supercat, then it's possible that it took some adjusting of the ECM before it went away.

It Is the AP Dual Resonated Mid-Pipe, and I would like to trade it for a stock cat and a couple bucks or for Brett's super cat.
The fact of the matter is, mine threw a CEL then didn't then did then didn't lol so I don't know what happened but you can most definitley feel the power gain from it... I took it off because it was too much when paired with the exoticspeed which is already a pretty loud exhaust the CEL wont even bother you after a couple of days

James ran it for a little while it really wasn't that bad. It did resonate strangely at 4500 tpms I think but other than that it wasn't loud and it helped the car.
