Id be in but ill be in Utah hopefully up to my waist in powder.

So, I was rear ended last thursday on my way home from work by a guy in a corolla that wasnt paying attention :banghead:. I just got the estimate today: $3500 all his fault. I know this isnt related but I just had to vent since Ive been dealing with insurance companys the last several days.

Now Im stuck in a corolla for a week and a half :eyetwitch

I take care of my car, but this thing is going to wish it was never created

Speedrx8er 03-03-2008 05:02 PM

that sucksss..

Hepcat1920 03-03-2008 05:07 PM

Bummer....

SpeedRX8er: Cool, see you when you come in then!
Eifuku: That sucks. Hate car accidents. $3,500 seems like a lot of damage - exhaust, rear bumper and paint? Going to upgrade anything while you are at it?

Seti001 03-03-2008 05:42 PM

lol exactly what i was about to ask?

Does that mean you finally get new tail lights? :) Sorry. I had to find some silver lining :)

BoosTED 03-04-2008 05:30 AM

:) I always look behind me before pushing hard on the brakes due to the fact that the 8 has better stopping ability than most vehicles on the road.

Sad to hear about that though Hepcat. I may be in this week to help test drive an 8 for a friend. I'll call first. What is your schedule this week?

With an '07 I doubt he was having moisture problems in the tail lights. :dunno:

Speedrx8er 03-04-2008 08:39 AM

with the Sun behind us. Its hard to see our brake lights. I might tint the tail lights when it gets warmer.

Eifuku 03-04-2008 12:01 PM

Yes I will get my lights replaced, but it's going to take 2 appointments, one was damaged in the accident and the other is under warranty and just came in yesterday.

Id do some upgrades but since its all under the other guys insurance im just going with OEM parts/service. Ive had enough with State Farm just to get to this point...

Actually I was at a dead stop waiting to turn left when the guy plowed into me. It was last thursday when we got all the snow and he was driving like hell for a snowy neighborhood full of kids.

Hows this for irony, my rental car is the same make/model/year that ran into me. Thing must be powered by 4 asthmatic gerbils...:bash:

At least I get to beat up a rental :)

Speedrx8er 03-04-2008 04:41 PM

wow!!!!!

Hepcat1920 03-04-2008 05:54 PM

My Schedule

Set schedules rock!
I am here Mon: 9am-5pm, Tues-Thurs: 12:30pm-9pm, and Sat: 9am-6pm.

Give me a call when you think you will be in, I will look forward to seeing you!

BoosTED 03-04-2008 10:23 PM

Nice, I hadn't seen that you posted this message Hepcat.

What was it an hour and a half later that I called.

BoosTED 03-04-2008 10:26 PM

Those that would like discount tickets for the autoshow, Hepcat gave me a stack or you can get them if you stop in to see him. :)

F1

Haha-sorry, totally did not see the post here until now.
No-I have not made it to one of the F1 events in Maserati yet. They seem to be pretty cool, I always seem to have something going on when they have one. I should check it out sometime though...

RCChris 03-25-2008 10:24 AM

lol, I think every one is getting their car for the spring meet / show and tell .

Snow could also be a factor.

BoosTED 03-25-2008 03:42 PM

:) I installed the Greddy oil pan last night.

truemagellen 03-25-2008 04:18 PM

Awesome T! Sorry I couldn't help...I'll be back in town Fri. Besides my back is still farked up.

BoosTED 03-25-2008 04:40 PM

:)

No problem, it wasn't too hard to do. I think the toughest thing was getting the pan off, or maybe squeezing the tube of silicone. :dunno:

My recommendations for someone when taking the stock pan off is to use a razor first and then a screwdriver, pry where it is not aluminum... had to tap down some scratch marks. ;)

We'll see tomorrow morning if I have any leaks after I torque the bolts down.

Not only that but most of my tools are at your place Truemagellen. :(

I used a small impact wrench to take the bolts out (I don't have my ratchets and only have a couple of 10mm sockets here, no extensions).

Speedrx8er 03-25-2008 07:57 PM

cool Ted.

As for my car, the pipe for the upper intake manifold came in today. :)
Time to start the mock up.
