Maybe later today when im at an actual computer ill try and find the exact tsb, what i remember is that because of it being potentially dangerous to yourself/other drivers in the event of the clutch breaking while driving... If there was any sign that the clutch was about to go (ie. Squeaking) it was to be replaced. When you were denied 2 years ago was it because they didnt thinj anything was wrong or because they thought your car wasnt covered?

Ps. I will once again be in the cities in 2 weeks and may stop by cars and coffee (wont be in the 8 though).

Thatd be sweet because i have very limited access to an actual computer thanks! I have a lot of tsbs ive downloaded on my phone but not the one that mentions the clutch actually breaking. When i took it in 2 years ago they just said there was nothing wrong, even though at the same time there was a tsb regarding the clutch cut switch squeaking and they never mentioned that either, i knew of both of those problems going in and got no answers. Ill be talking to my lawyer today and let you know, im sure ill need the tsb if you can find it, thanks

The problem with them saying that there was nothing wrong is that it becomes your word over theirs (who knows maybe they heard the squeak but just assumed it was normal)... I have dealt with this same problem (dealership saying nothing is wrong) over a tranny output seal. If they would have told you that yes it is indeed sqeaking but it's not covered and you have to pay for it, it would be a different situation.

With that said, I located what is acctually a warranty extension letter (which doesnt change much because at the time you took it in, it was becoming a well known issue.) In the letter it talks about an "abnormal noise" this would be the sqeaking sound coming from the clutch that you brought it in for.

yea it's either going to get ugly, or i won't be able to do anything but bite the bullet.. polar had my car for over four hours when they were first looking at it and i decided to just show up there to see if it was done. they never called me saying it was or anything, and didn't mention anything about them hearing the squeak or what it was, although it was impossible not to notice, but they 'greased' something and didn't tell me that they did. i only noticed when i drove my car away and the squeak wasn't there. all they said was it didn't qualify, and a few weeks later the squeak was back.. it only took morrie's an hour and half to take the old one out and put the new one in..

and that is the actual letter i received in the mail, thanks for taking the time to check it out for me, i will hear back from my lawyer tomorrow hopefully and will keep you all posted. but i'm not expecting anything..

btw.. there is a ti grey sittin at morrie's service with a blown motor, i talked to the guy about it because he actually doesn't have a sunroof and i wanted to leave him a note if he'd trade roof panels with me. his motor got denied for warrenty replacement because he didn't keep track of his oil changes. so look for that thing going cheap at an auction soon lol

Hi, guys. Recently, when I reverse my RX8, if I am not going straight line. I can hear some noise from my rear tire. I went to Mazda dealer and they told me, it's just from tire and it's normal, but I have driven a lot of cars and it's my first time hear this kind of noise.
Does anyone's RX8 have this kind of problem or noise?
Thanks

"Plasti dip" is best known as the stuff you "dip" your wrenches in, to get a nice rubber handle.

Can get it in an aresol can now, and coating rims is all the rage on YouTube.

I read about it after I saw the post. But what's the advantage of plastidip over paint? I assume it's thicker so more protection?

What kind of noise? You can try rotate your tires. And see if the rear tire which is now in the front still make the noise?

+1 on rotating.

is it a squealing, or rubbing noise?
or is it a grinding / metallic sound?

how's the tread wear? some tires get really noisy when you get down past half, and if the tires aren't wearing evenly, it's entirely possible for one tire to get noisy before the others...

if the sound remains in the rear after rotating the tires, that may indicate an issue with the Hub or suspension componenets...

The sound is like "click, click, click"
And it only happens when I reverse my car by turning.

The main benefits are that it's an easy afternoon job if you want to paint your rims or any other part of your car. It's temporary so if you use it over paint after a while if you get sick of it you can just peel it off like nothing ever happened. It is also thick so having it on will protect the paint as well. I highly recommend buying a few cans and just tinkering around with it.
