thompsolonian@gmail.com thanks!! And anyone else who took pictures, please e-me them, thanks!! **EDIT**I tried downloading the zip then opening, and opening directly after download, neither worked.** The .zip is 297 MB which is too large to send through E-mail. (Gmail limits attachments to 20MB) I'd recommend trying the download for the .zip again. let me know if you still have issues. |
It worked, Thanks. didn't think of that...Anymore pics anyone?

Who wants to go on a drive up to Duluth come mid/late September. It would be a great way to get a nice, long drive in and see the beautiful colors fall has to offer.
I can try to better organize this one this time, I can develop maps and stops, and maybe little scenic detours. Duluth zoo may be a good ending spot. Who's in? I put a post on the Midwest Z forum, trying to make it a joint event. |

I just drove my car up there last weekend. Road is good most of the way until you get to Duluth where they have road construction. That should be closer to done by the time Fall arrive. Remind me I would like to drive up there again to see leaves changes color in the fall.
I still want to make Duluth zoo our stopping point when we get up there. I am also wondering if we should make it a weekend thing, we can drive up there on a Friday, find a cheap hotel, go to the zoo on Saturday, and possibly Betty's Pies a few minutes north (Well worth the trip AND the wait) and drive back Sunday? Or we could make it a day in/day out trip...up to majority vote... |
If you want to see beautiful leave colors, I would say a drive along Old 61 route is the best. It is a two lane highway along the lake with plenty of places to stop taking photo and park. Goose Berry Fall is another good place to visit. I went to Duluth Zoo before and I agree that it would be a good stopping point. It has big parking lot so we can park away from others. Hopefully they done fixing I-35 by that time arrives.

That sounds like a good idea to me, as for lodging, the Villas at Spirit Mountain are pretty nice, they have 2 bedrooms apiece, and I see availability, we could possibly go 6 to a villa, did that all the time in scouts, cut the cost down quite a bit. Here is the website for more info:

Was anybody else here at the Stillwater fireworks on the 4th? I saw a white 8 there with a rear paint job mimicking Shakeyourbrakes (another club member.) Was wondering if anybody in here might have known who that was?

Just so you guys all know, I started an online club for us, this thread be a bit lengthy.
It is called MEENIESOOTAH, I hope you get the pun... JOIN IT IF YOU LIVE IN MN!!! :Kill1: Thanks |
Hello all,
Introducing myself...Just traded in my old GTI for an 04 RX8 today. Love it so far. Looking forward to getting to know other owners. Pictures to follow. |
Welcome! What part of MN do you live in?
|
I just moved to Mound from Bloomington a couple weeks ago, good times.
Hey do you guys go on any drives? Alphabet road runs and such? |
so which is faster, the GTI or the 8? hah, we all went on a drive in june, we met at fuddruckers in st louis park and then cruised around town for a bit. I think some of us are planning another drive in august.

Here's a couple panoramics from the meet I forgot to post before [Warning: These images are 30-40Mb.]

The GTI had it's moments. It definitely gets the nod in interior space and surprisingly raw grip, since it had the same width tires with stickier rubber on a lighter car. But the 8 is faster in a straight line and transitions better, and more importantly it's more fun to drive.
