Michigan RX-8 Lounge
We are going to have a fall/winter meet in Windsor at Rack&Roll for brews, cues and food. I will post a link to the official thread when I get all info.
I am on the smart bus on woodward right now and it's so f'n ghetto!

Any good RX8 techs around Detroit?
Does anyone know of any good techs in the area that know the Rx8? I have what I think might be the start of a slipping clutch, and I'd rather not take it to the dealer who will start looking up the price of the factory replacement clutch kit and labor time before they even take 5 minutes to check out the car...
I'd really like someone familiar with the car to tell me what my options are, especially when it comes to non-factory replacement parts. It's a street car, so i'm not looking to hotrod the thing, but I know there are other good options out there for rebuild parts which wouldn't be available from the dealer...don't want to go overboard, but if i'm going in there, i want to make sure it get done right..

Very cool! When winter goes away, I'd like to get a baseline compression check and dyno run.
BTW, your website has an issue. Clicking your link gives your homepage as it should. But once there, clicking on "Home" gives a connection error - you might point that out to your web guru.

I seen some bad installs coming from cattle drive type businesses..
If you really want a good install take it to a smaller audio/alarm install place.. You will get a better quality install for sure..
I need to replace my ignition coils asap, I ordered some from autozone 2 days ago hoping that I would get them today and no luck. anybody know where I could pick some up without special ordering them???
Try oreilly's or advance auto parts... oreilley's ran about $155 for a set and they could get them same day... part #e1001 . advance auto parts was under $100 for the same part number, but you had to order them...but you can check local store availability - their system bounces between having them and not having them almost daily... both made by BWD

The big disadvantage of fly-by-night coils is that one has to ask questions like this. One can use BHR (for more money than stock), or LS2 coils with an adapter kit ( http://raceroots.com/index.php/produ...n-harness.html ) for about stock prices. Any non-stock route also may put your 8 yr/100k mile engine warranty in jeapordy.
If you're stuck, I have a set of used, but known good coils you can test out to make sure it's really a coil issue. (I'm in East Lansing).

Street cred in Detroit? Survive a week walking the streets in Detroit. One in brush park area, another in Highland Park, W. Jefferson/Rouge area, Chene Park, Cork Town, spend a night on Belle Isle and you're in! Bring Your Guns!
Than come over to Windsor like I did.
I bet I live closer than most to Detroit and I'm in Canada

Oh I lived there for 5 years, it wasn't bad. LA is worse IMO.
But I might need to get some help from the motor city motor-heads, my wife's car is acting up and she is there visiting friends.
If dealer won't fix it under warranty, then I'd like to know if there are some good fair mechanics in the area.
