Not I... I just see stockies, usually being driven by hot women... Poor 8s, they probably don't know how often they need to check their oil and are gonna wonder why the the car "broke" after 10k miles...

No place in town to really order them from. Get most of what you can get from Assaultech. He's great at giving the lowest prices in the business. He also has overnight shipping on most stuff for just 10 bucks more which is amazing... Just mention you're from the forums. Get a drop in K&N, no reason to get anything more than that unless you're boosted. Exhaust & midpipe if you're looking for more power. Kind of straying now from your question so back to your question about keeping it in peak performance, check oil every 2 to 3 fill ups depending on how fast you go through oil, my advice is to stick to regular mineral oil and no synthetics. You can pre-mix if you want (multiple threads on the board about this) make sure you keep at least 92 octane in the car at all times. If you can afford it, 93. Get the ECU checked/updated at neil huffman to the most current version for the car. Any recall work if any, have them do as well. Don't run the car until its warm, the rest is pretty much common sense. Check fluids periodically and don't run the car off the road. :P

So, anyone who's down for a meet this Saturday, we'll probably be meeting up at Iroquois Park down in the amphitheater parking lot near where they play disc golf. I figured we could grab lunch or something then go around and take some pictures. Meeting up there between 11-12:30. Should give everyone plenty of time to show up. If you're gonna be late you can call/text me at 502-938-0521. Not just a regular 8 meet so we'll have other people from the local car scene showing up but anyone is welcome.

I know this is an old thread, but the wife and I just pucked up a nice '05 RX8 on New Years day. Thought I would say HI. Car is all stock now with 58k miles. Titanium Grey, 6spd, heated leather seats, and sunroof. Will primarily be the wifes daily driver, and my weekend toy.

Manual.......No way would I have a motor like this, in a chassis like this, with an automatic transmission. Nor would I have married a woman that couldn't drive a 5spd!! :D :D
Belive it or not, it was actually her idea to get the RX8 instead of the Ford Edge she had been looking at!

I've been checking the oil for her on the weekends/nights. She doesn't drive it nearly as aggressively as I do. I'm trying to get in the habit of bringing it home with a full tank of gas, and a full crankcase of oil :D I think I'm going to go ahead and put new plugs and wires on it here soon as well, just to make sure those are in good shape for her. The car came with all of the service records since new, looks like it's been serviced at Oxmoor Mazda it's whole life, with everything from oil changes, to coolant flushes done there. Not sure I'm going to pay for the coolant flushes when I can do them myself, but the oil changes are reasonable so they'll still get that business for certain.
Is there a particular brand of oil I should be using when it does get low? So far it's been staying right between the "bumps" on the dipstick, but we've only run about 2 tanks of fuel through it. I think the manual said 5w30 as well, isn't that a little light? I seem to remember running 20w50 in my RX7, but that was 10 years ago so I might be foggy on that one.

Anyone else fight the traffic and ice this morning in a Mazda?
Took me 1-1/2hrs to get from J-Town to Middletown! Left home in the Yukon, and turned around and took it back to the wife, and fought the weather in the Mazda. The DSC was helpfull most of the time, allowing just enough wheelspin to get moving before sucking the power out of the motor and getting things under control and moving!

I was looking to install something to make my iphone play music over my radio. Just from reading the forums ive seen the, $4 sodder something onto my indash and play a blank cd, the$180 P.I.E. thing (im sure the old owner on my 04 didnt update the firmware so i would have to), or take it to like roberts audio and pay $200 for them to do it. IMO if i have to spend $180 i might as well get a whole new indash and install on that has a aux port built it. I like the looks of the original one which is why i havent already replaced it. Has anyone else installed something to give it an aux port or know of a different way that i dont know?
