A long shot...
Alright, so I just purchased an '04 Black, MT and absolutely LOVE it....except when I bought it (yes, I know it is my fault, I am dumb, and so on) the Stereo (Bose 6-Disc) and LCD were not working (although ac/heat controls work just fine.) According to the seller it was working perfectly until he thought the battery needed to be changed and since it was still under warranty he went ahead and swapped it out for me. He said that he left the key turned to the on position when he disconnected the battery and forgot to turn it back off before he hooked up the new battery and blew the head unit.
He was really cool about it and knocked a chunk off of the price for me because of it so I went ahead and purchased the car (because everything else was perfect on it and I was already without a vehicle.) So I purchased a second 6-Disc changer from a forum member here that pulled it out functional and shipped it directly to me. I switched the units and had the same problem, so I took it to a car audio shop here in town and had them check everything. They said that it all looked good and could not figure out what is wrong which leads me into my next question...
Would there be anyone in the St. Joseph, Kansas City area that would be willing to swap around stereo's to see if the ones I have are functional or if yours would be functional in my car?
Sorry for the book guys, just desperate for some music in my car.
I have also been following this thread where someone has the same issue that I have and hasn't been able to swap to test it yet either... https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/head-unit-lcd-problems-212813/
