I've ridden in Tirminyl's RX-8 which has a K&N intake on it. Man that thing is loud!

We should do a meet sometime this spring while the weather isn't too hot. I'm sure we could get something set up and I'd be more than willing to help out.

I got mine back yesterday but I don't know if the color matches since it's cloudy. I'm also afraid to drive it until I get a clear-bra installed. The orange JoCo trucks are out putting that GOD AWFUL rock sealant on everything so it is rock-chip-city around here right now. lol

By the way, how about we try to get something together towards the end of this month? The weather will hopefully be better by then (meaning it'll be a little warmer). March 27th is a Saturday. How does that sound?

Gave the RX-8 it's second mod today in the form of a Borla cat-back. Yummy!

The first mod was a Mazdaspeed shift-**** BTW. lol

Local guys wanting an intake:

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/fs-k-n-typhoon-intake-gen-2-a-193149/

$150 and it's yours. Needs two washers, a clamp, and a hose. Probably won't run you over $10 for all of that.

Here are the RX-8 meet plans!

Meet up at around 12:00-1:00pm at Famous Dave's BBQ near Kansas Speedway. The address is 1320 Village West Parkway, Kansas City Kansas 66111. The date will be Saturday March 27th.

No need to bring anything other than your RX-8 and whoever wants to ride with you. Parking shouldn't be terrible up there and since we've got a mix of Missouri and Kansas people that'll hopefully keep people happy drive-wise. Maybe a camera if you're picture-happy. I'll be bringing mine.

I plan on parking-lot-standing, eating and talking until everyone is bored and wants to head out. I can't imagine an insane amount of people showing up (based off of the overall lack of talk in this thread) but I think it'll be a good time anyways. Who knows, hopefully it'll get the ball rolling and we can have more of these in the future.

If everyone is against the place to meet up it can be changed. I was just trying to find a more central location that'll have easy parking for everyone and that area is the first area that came to mind.

Never been to a meet before, unless something comes up, count me in.

I bought my 8 from Tumminia just cause I got good price. But after-purchase service sux and the service department kinda shady and not helpful. They drove my 8 for 10miles without giving any explanation, and when asked they acted as though they didnt do it (I got my phone camera as proof and even the receipt show 10miles difference between mile in & mile out). Also, after 2 weeks with the car, I got a gas tank problem where every time I fill up my gas, it will ALWAYS overflow, even with auto-lock set to the least at every gas station I went. Brought my car in & they told me that it normal for 8 to do that, and there's nothing they could do. What kind of crap is that? I then brought my car to Laird Noller in Lawrence where they changed my gas tank cause it was faulty. Been servicing at Laird Noller ever since.

I guess I should ask the same question about any good Mazda service department in the area since I'm done with school and hate having to drive to Lawrence just to service. Thanks.

What kind of service do you need? Just oil changes or are you talking warranty work? I ask because to my knowledge a LOT of the Rob/Bob Sight Mazda guys just went over to the Ford/Lincoln dealership when the other store was shut down so if you're looking for someone to do the good basic stuff then I'd recommend heading there.

If you need a Mazda dealership however I have no clue. I've been trying to find out the same thing myself.

Agreed. I work with Eric at the Ford/Lincoln dealership off 135th & Stateline for oil changes. I call ahead of time to make sure they can get the oil in, etc. As far as actual Mazda service, I have not found a place to go. I refuse to go to Tumminia and Rob/Bob Sight is no more

So strange you mentioned that about refueling! In my area BP is the only gas station that has 92 octane and I always filled up at the same one and then like 3 times in a row even at the lowest fill setting it would always overflow! I was so angry because I always thought the pump is what was supposed to detect when the fuel was overflowing and kick off? Did you try refueling at a different gas station before you got your fuel tank replaced?

Still have my K&N intake for sale. $100 takes it. Make it go bye-bye.

If I can't sell it for that price I'll probably put it on. lol

I'm checking the weather for Saturday and notice it'll be a little chilly and there's a chance of rain. I'm just putting it out there now that I STILL plan on attending rain or shine. I figure even if no one shows up at least I get some BBQ out of the deal!
