Good Dealers/Bad Dealers Thread?
We have a good guy/bad guy thread, so why not a good dealer/bad dealer thread?
Let me start:
Indiana
Bad Dealer: Mike Raisors Mazda/Collission Center
Story: Sent my car in for a $5000 repaint of the front end. So that's the front bumper, two front fenders, roof, both front doors, windshield replacement, headlight replacement.
They messed up the repaint. Multiple points where the new paint has simply caved into the rock chip divets of the old paint, and points where there was overspray on both front doors. Also, overspray on rear bumper, a part of the car I didn't ask them to repaint.
So I sent it back in Monday, and they have not called back with any news since then. I've called them, and they have not told me the status of the car yet. NO NEWS. NO NOTHING. There's not even paperwork stating that they're checking up on the work. They asked for my keys and car, which I handed them, and was told they'll call. Where is my call?
--------------------------
Good Dealer: Tom Roush Mazda
Story: Excellent dealer. I've made multiple visits to them for various issues, and they took care of me right there and then. Very friendly staff, and having two RX-8 techs there who seem to know what they're doing helps a lot too.
Will definitely revisit.

There should not be any "rock chip divets" for the new paint to cave into. I would demand to speak with the GM or highest level manager and I would also call Mazda North America and report the incident. When repainting a car or a part the first thing you do is sand it to remove all chips and to prevent chipping/cracking/or the caving you have described. Pictures are worth 1000 words, I hope you have some.
