Good Body Shop in Chicago???

I tried searching, but no cigar. I have some minor damage to my driver's side rear fender portion froma hit and run while it was parked on the street. It's a little too damaged to try pdr so I'll have to go the auto body route. Since my deductible is $500, I figured if the costs land between $500 and $1k, I'd be better off paying it out of pocket. The damage seems like it will be around there since once it gets fixed, that portion will need to be repainted. If it tops $1,200 I would probably go to insurance.

In any case, since I'm planning on paying fr this out of pocket, I would like to know whether there's a good affordable body shop in chicago that will get my 8 perfect again, at a reasonable rate. I know I could always take it to where benz and lotuses get work done at, but I can't afford that. I don't want a half assed job either.

If anyone out there has any good recommendations or even an estimate of how much my damage might be to fix, that'd be much appreciated. I know prices vary, and I'll try to get a pic up asap so you can better assess the damage. Thanks all.

I finally got a quote for $460 for repair and repaint (95-98% matching according to guy) and $600 for repair and blended repaint(100% match). What do you guys recommend? I would probably just go with the cheaper route if they actually do get 95% match). I'll see if I get time to take it up to that other shop.

It's up to you. The car isn't too old, so the color match shouldn't be too bad. Unless it's silver. Then you should blend.

you should definitely blend. otherwise the color difference will be noticeable. the only color that does not have to be blended to match is brilliant black.

P.S. i work for a body shop.
