Just moved from NYC
Hello to all,
I just moved to Madison, WI last month from NYC. I my 8 back in Feb. of 2006. Titanium gray 6 speed. I'm also new to the rx-8 club family. Since I'm close to Chicago I will definitely try to make it to some meets. My car is all stock, I finally convinced my wife to set up separate savings accounts that way she can't B*%$H about me spending money on upgrades. Before my 8 I drove a 1994 Camaro Z28. My Z had more kick but my 8 is much more fun to drive. Got to get back to work.

Midwest F-Body Club Track Weekend
I've never had my car to a track event before, so a few newbie questions:
What kind of speeds are we talking about at an event like this (in an RX-8, of course)? I seem to remember Al mentioning 120MPH on tracks that he has driven.
How dangerous is that? (for the driver...or the car)
Are special mods really necessary? (like racing brake pads)
Thx,
saxon

Just once, I'd like to feel my car doing what it was designed to do...without getting a ticket.

Chicago Meet...
Alright, it has been too long since we have had a meet (or maybe just that I have been to). So I am going to do it up... Either Saturday Nov. 4th or Sat. Nov. 11th. I will see what the feedback is on the dates and set the date this Wed. night/Thursday. I would like to meet around 5 or 6pm at The Four Corners on Taylor street in Little Italy (parking is actually pretty good around that time). We can have some dinner, then go for a cruise, maybe (route to be determined). Then maybe back for some brews.

You should post this up on ChicagoRotary.
I know this isn't all about me, but I am tight for money and wouldn't be able to attend anything involving a dinner.
