on the itinerary we should have some sessions by 8 owners who can show us how to do different services on our car...or installations, etc. hey you can use my car to demonstrate a MS flywheel install for instance
but other helpers like how to change the oil. tranny/differential fluid swap, HU removal (I can do that one in my sleep), filter changing, etc.

Erm, is this for real? I was kinda out of it all day yesterday but if this is for real, I am so in, it's even a question considering chicago is my original home town and any excuse i can make to go back I make. Course, I don't know that I'd drive from texas as it's a 17 hour drive, but I might, you never know.

I'd like to profit off this endeavor in some way. So seeing that I usually go home to Florida on Memorial Day weekend, I may consider auctioning off my apartment for that weekend. It's a small one bedroom on State St. on the 54th floor overlooking the lake and Oak Street Beach. And depending on the bid, the lucky winner may find a fridge stocked with two cases of beer - only implied guarantees on that, though. Oh, usage of my 8 would cost extra, unless it's a hot girl like Morgan.

One of youse Chicago boyz needs to decide who is the head-weenie-organizer for this event, or you'll have people flying halfway across the U.S. to tour the Chicago International Airport.
BRx8 said he's not the organizer-type....so someone grab the bull but the rotary and forge ahead. I'm not going to do it as I don't think I'll be able to make that one AND I live in FLORIDA!

yes thank you, i'm off the hook...i'm definitely not a coordinator type, i've never even been to a meet let alone know what happens during them...
what i can do is check on those cruise tickets and see if we can get group rates, find out local events happening during Memorial Day, etc...

My suggestion to you would also be to find a relatively nice hotel near some of Chicago activities, with a place which could host a group dinner (main event). Then convince one or two of the others to help with the planning and delegate some responsibilities their way.
Then you start listing facets of your event.....will you have t-shirts? (Chicago Underground,,,,cool)......dinner?......night out?.....group dinner cruise would be cool........maps......lists with attendees phone numbers.....a Saturday outing? Zoo? A Sunday outing? Sponsors? Doorprizes? Gift Certificates?
Try to keep everyone at the same motel, witin walking distance of at least one or two attractions or sections. (Maybe Chinatown)
Just suggestions....GOOD LUCK!!
oy yeah....and one more, important detail......whatever hotel you put Meow up in, make SURE the rooms have plenty of electrical outlets. :D :D

Don't forget.. We have 9 months to do this.. that means procrastinate until April 15th then cram everything together in the last month.
