Just a week ago, Mazda came out with a new PCM flash. It is classed just short of a recall. Speaking of flash, some new tuning tools are about to be released. Cobb, Hymee & EFI Dude. Keep an eye out for these. I don't know how long you've been gone or how much news you got. A RX8 won the GT class at the 24 Hrs of Daytona.
Some engines have been torn down and post mortum has been done. It seem the center of the apex seal is getting more wear than the sides. The 2009 RX8 engine is getting an additional oil injector to take care of this problem. We probably should pre-mix (oil). A new rotary engine is in development. the 16X (1600cc) will have direct injection. Speculation is it will be in a redesigned 2012 RX8 or RX9. Expect more torque and horsepower (260-270?).

The cockpit actually felt a little cramped at first but as soon as I pulled out of the drive way I remembered why I picked the car in the first place!!!!

Hey guys! It's been a while since I visited here now that I have an STi. I'm looking at powdercoating my stock goldies and I was wandering if you guys have any recommendations for shops that do that and how much it might cost. On a side note, I saw a thread above about ECU reflashes with Cobb on the list. I give them two thumbs up for the AccessPort stage 1 that they have. It noticeably increased HP & torque and it smoothed out the curve big time. They also have excellent customer service.

 

Powder coating.. umm.. probably $200 $250?.. I always spraypainted mine, $15 ftw.

easy way to do it.. take notecards, place them in a circular pattern around the wheel, like sticking them in between the wheel and the tire (the little groove) overlap them so it actually forms a circle.. spray, and blam you have good looking wheels for cheap.. I knoes powder coating is a different style all together.. I just can't justify $200-250 vs $15.

Try Boyle Body Works.. don't know exactly where it is..

Speaking of that, if anyone needs body work / painting done, the owner is my cousin, I can see if he can cut a deal for forum members.. wouldn't be drastic, but more business = good.
