Sweet....sounds like we might actually have enough people for the 10th to make this work!

Does anyone want to volunteer to organize the rest of the details??

I say 2pm to give some us drive time. I don't know the parks there but if you guys know a fairly nice one for photo taking please post a suggestion. I will bring my cammera bag but I'm in no way a pro. I will however post the picks I take here so others can have copies.

You know I'll be at that one for sure

Is there a Hooters in Des Moines? We might be able to get some good pictures there

I'm still pretty partial to brewpubs. Besides, my significant other (henceforth known as "the commitee") is a jealous type that will veto Hooters which will mean I don't get to show up. 2pm is a bit early for me as lunchtime is going to be busy everyday. A little later would be better. Perhaps 3 or 4 at the earliest. I'm in town to visit my 89 year old grandmother so spending time with her is what determines my free time and when I get it. She does get tired mid day and usually ends up taking a nap at some point which is why I mentioned 3 or 4 as being better.

Anyone going to the fair? I may head out there Wednesday or Thursday.

Brewpubs are still fine by me too, and I'm thinking 3 or 4 sounds good too. We could meet up at some park or something, take some pics, and then go grab some dinner before heading home.

3 or 4 is fine for me too

RG-you pick which brewpub you would like since you are visiting and don't get over here often. I am fine with any that were mentioned before.

I am going to the fair this saturday, got free tickets from my wife's work! Score!

Thoughts:

Group picture - downtown is IMO the most scenic of backdrops (either capitol or metro). West DSM around 70th could be ok too.

I'm fine with brewpubs - Granite city, racoon river, whatever.

Cruise anyone? I was thinkin a drive up around the Saylorville dam would allow us to open up the throttle while not getting too far from DSM. We could meet in Ankeny around 4pm, cruise around Saylorville, stop for a pic or two, drive to to DSM metro for some final pics, then have dinner at Racoon River.

These are all just suggestions/ideas. I'm game for whatever so I you all want to do something different thats fine. I also haven't been back since the floods so I don't know what condition any of these areas are in right now...

The time and SteveG's idea works great for me. I also like the brewpubs and have only been to one there so that also works for me.

The Cedar Rapids meet is something I'd be interested in as well. Just let me know when and where and I'll check to make sure I don't have any work projects to prevent me from coming.

That sounds like a good plan to me too. Where at in Ankeny at 4pm?
BTW, I think I have at least 2 other Cedar Rapids guys, maybe 3... maybe even 4 (come on Diego!) :D I'm not sure why Remix hasn't chimed in again on here, but he's trying to get someone to take his shift at work, and another guy in town with a turbo 8, and haven't heard from MarauderWolf yet.

I won't make a drive but I'll meet up somewhere. I was actually thinking against Downtown locations due solely to group parking. I was thinking somewhere towards Valley West/WDSM such as Granite City or Rock Bottom. Granite City would be my first choice.

The logic behind it being lots of parking.

This is probably the last time I'll be able to post before then. Hopefully everyone will be there. I plan on being at Granite City Brewing on Sunday at 3 PM or soon thereafter. Hope to see everyone there!

Here's a map for those who need it:

I'll get there as early as I can. Anybody wanna PM me their cell number in case I need to call or anything? I have nav in my car and an iphone, so I shouldn't get lost, but just in case I suddenly become retarded or something.

I should be there by 3pm as long as my garmin doesn't send me to St. Paul instead. If someone that lives in the area would like to drop me a PM with the their number I'll call if I do get turned around somewhere. I'll be leaving town by 12pm for the run down to DM. See everyone there!
