I've seen a red one in Elizabethtown and a black one on 65 between Shepardsville in Louisville. That's about it.

Define tuning my friend. You mean in general just modding the car or do you mean specific ecu tuning? I've owned/modded/raced my rx8 for over a decade and imo I don't think there's much to gain from an ecu tune on these.
I live in Louisville a little north of the forest and have a pair of velocity reds hiding in my garage, one currently under going a heart transplant and the other gets driven occasionally in the warmer months. My brother lives just over the river and has a 40ae that's a couple shades of grey. Besides ours, I rarely see 8s these days.
