use the dealer quote. For this car the dealer quote came back much lower than the carsdirect price. The carsdirect price was retail and the dealers was $2000 below that. But it ultimately depends on the zip code. The more competition for your buisness the better the price will be. You will probably recieve more than one offer so wait a little while and use them to further negotiate your price.

Hey myrx8-yourcar....I bought mine at Biggers Mazda also. I got no great deal and no great rate(had two late pays)but I do think they are really nice there. They have always been acommodating. At the time I ordered there were no deals on them.....I only talked them out of $500 off. I agree about the Schaumburg guys....horrible there!

I ended up getting mine at Schaumburg. got a great price via email and sealed the deal and got out in record time. Wasn't that bad. Also met their mechanic on the 8's, Eric, who really knows his stuff.

While I didn't care for them from a sales perspective, I have heard that their rotary expert in the service dept is one of the best around- must be the same guy.

I talked to him when I bought the car, and when I brought it back becasue the tire pressure light went on (big surprise - low pressure!) He likes to talk Rotary. He was working on an RX-7 when I got there. He's definitley someone they brag about, with decades of experience.

My salesmen was Shaun Quindel and the GM there was awesome. Heck they let me take the car home and drive it the next day to work to get a good feel for the car and MPG. They also have a very good selection. I went to Schaumburg Mazda and those guys were A$$holes! They gave me some bull story when I went in that I couldn't test drive the care due to the road conditions (It had snowed, but the roads were bone dry). I guess they didn't think a 26 yr old could seriously afford this car. So basically they thought I would buy a car that I couldn't test drive. Or better yet they didn't want to waiste there time on what they thought was a joke......until I made it very clear to them that I could pay cash for the car on the spot. I never saw people back pedal so fast.
I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!! Those Schaumburg Mazda guys were @$$e$$ for sure! They told me the same BS.. even said people usually put some money down BEFORE you can test drive the 8.. WHATEVER!... I asked the salesperson to take me to his manager and when he did.. I CLEARLY AND AUDIBLY SAID "YOU GUYS JUST LOST A SALE".. and walked out. Went to ROTO Mazda the next day, picked up my 8 and drove it back to Schaumburg to shove it in their faces that they did LOSE a sale... I even told Mazda about them in the survey they sent. I hate those guys. <--- sales

bringing this thread back to life...my quarterly drop in. ...the rims ran me 3200 with shipping. But remember that was about a year and half ago...when they were fairly new. Now I'm sure you can find better deals.

SIGHTING...saw a cute girl(actually only the back of her head/blonde) in a red rx8...anyone?
