I really want a TT FD! But it is so hard to find a good one that hasn't been molested.

Seriously. I'd kill for one.

As for the LSx T-II. I still have my LS1 or I'd seriously consider offering the guy my 8, but I want a 13B in the T-II or a 20B

Just threw on a set of evo wheels on the rx8, 17x8 +38 with 245/45/17 falken azenus rt615's hooray for some new backroad wheels!

MB battles this spring, so that sets me up with 3 sets of wheels... overkill?

it might depending on tires, but in my case, I have +38 evo wheels with 245 tires, and they rub a little. (the plastic tab...)

mine is 18x8.5, with 245/40/18. but in theory, rim width/diameter should not matter... i think...

anyways, I have 3 sets, winter, summer and autox, and the one with +38 is for autox, so rubbing doesn't really matter to me..

While I haven't done a heads-up against the wife, I believe it's already quicker than an 8 (she does too as she wouldn't try to keep up with me one time). With another 50 hp or so life should be interesting!

Changed the oil, tranny and diff fluid at 6am this morning! Put Motul 300 in the tranny and Motul 300 LS (for the LSD) in the diff. Used 5w30 Pennzoil non-synthetic for the oil.

Going back later this afternoon after the Buckeyes game to balance the tires and get a wash.

What a difference the Motul makes in the tranny and diff! I highly recommend it!

Okay yesterday I was out driving and had the a/c on max since it was hot as hell (98 degrees and humid). My car died as depressed the clutch to come to a stop. Restarted the car a few time and it wouldn't hold idle. I turned off the a/c and opened the windows and after a bit everything went back to "normal."

I think I'm having an issue with the amount of "power" my battery is putting out, as in I don't think it's supplying enough power to run all the cars systems. Which may be the cause for not being able to run cruise control when my headlights are on.

I don't know if any of what I'm thinking is valid, any thoughts?

You could have a weak battery that won't take a full charge, or you could have a dying alternator that isn't supplying enough current. Both can be easily pulled and checked at autozone or the like.

Simple voltmeter could help figure that one out.

I'd love to have enough money to properly turbo/supercharge this car and get enough low-end torque to make up for the abysmal low-end we have. That, and getting another 70bhp would make this car an absolute dream, IMO. Already handles like one, just getting it up into the 300hp range would put it FAR beyond anything at its price point.

And I think I'm still the only one of us up here with an S2.

Oh yeah, and I grabbed some red duplicolor caliper paint. Gonna try to do my calipers and my quad's hubs red tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

Those are some pretty wheels!

Anyone got an extra set of 8 injectors lying around they want to sell me when I get home? It's looking like those will be the perfect size for the amount of boost I'll be running on the Miata. Somehow I think the wife would miss hers.

Nope, you're not the only S2. You just happen to have tighter fitting seats.

Hope the paint works out. I'd be interested to see how it compares to the G2 paint. Now I wish I went with red instead of black G2. I hear red adds 30+ ft-lbs of torque.

I'd like to do something with my grill. Not a lot of parts out there for S2s. Also, I'm thinking of blacking out the small chrome bits below the fog lights. The S1s do have a much better looking from end. I guess I could rip it all off and redo it.

I think I'm gonna go with the Racing Beat grills for the oil cooler. Pretty sure they sell a matching one for the middle grill... might just go ahead and get a matching set while I'm at it.

Paint is drying right now. 4 coats takes forever. Gonna give it about an hour before I put the wheels on. Some WIP shots:

I used one coat with the G2 paint. I was skeptical it would coat in one but it did. It almost fuses to the calipers when you apply it. I think I did all four in about an hour, including the prep, once I pulled the wheels. I did some taping as you did, but once around the backside, I didn't spend as much time hitting every spot that carefully.

Red will look good with your car, especially with the R3 wheels.

While you have the wheels off, can you pull your Bilsteins for me? LOL

That opens up the front end a lot. I was right about removing the chrome bits by the fogs. I was thinking of putting some black tape on them just to see how it would look and then paint it if it turned out. I'm not sure how they mount on, but if they used two-sided tape instead of fasteners, then it would be easy to remove. I'd hate to have to remove the entire front piece just to get to a couple fasteners.

The fogs are pretty useless anyway. Taking them off really looks good.

There is a new guy (goes by Mr Broke) posting over on 247, I sent him a PM and directed him this way. Hopefully he'll show up and become part of the group.

I actually like the few chrome touches on the car. Under the fogs and around the side indicator. I want something more than total black on my car. Which is why I'm reluctant to tint my windows or smoke the lights on the car.

I've actually thought about painting the chrome part in the headlight a gloss black color. Saw someone do it in a thread to their S2 lights and it looked pretty good.

Just got real hot. Then dropped down to real cold for no good reason. So... the usual?

And how do you all feel about tint on black cars?... How dark is too dark?

I would do 20%. I use to have an 05 Black RX8, trust me..tint on a black 8 makes the car look 10x better..in my opinion. I would do it in a heart beat. You will not be disappointed at all.

I can give you a number of a guy that I always use to tint my cars. Just let me know.

Its about 105 here today. Suppose to cool down to 99 this weekend.

Too dark is when Ohio SP pull you over and put the light meter on your windows.

As for the chrome bits on your car Atredeus, I agree on a all black car you need something to add some contrast. With my silver, I need more black. I have winter wheels I picked up from a friend and they're dark gray/black. Might break up some of the silver on my car.
