[Chicago] JGTCA.com *weekly* meets on warm & dry Saturdays

Hello everyone, I'm new here, but am a huge fan of the RX-8

To get an idea of the types of cars you'll see at our meets here are a few pics:

Click here for more pictures (and the full size 640x480 images of the thumbnails).

We already have an RX8Club member as a member on our site too (as well as 240SX, Corolla/Trueno, 350Z/G/Z32, MR-2, SC300, NSX, S2000, RX-7, 3000GT VR-4, GSX, EVO, and WRX/STi members to name a few) and would enjoy meeting more GT owners in the area... especially RX-8s! We haven't seen many of you guys around and would love to see/meet RX-8 owners.

We meet on Saturdays (when the weather is good) between 4:30PM - until whenevers in the Des Plaines area. There is a mini-show and a cruise/tour--we try to mix things up by doing more than just standing around.

Meeting by 4:30PM is key so we can get parking by one another. Food/Cuisine is very similar to Portillo's. Join us at JGTCA.com for more specific details on the meet!

Last season we started a tradition of going for a spirited but safe tour through some of the more/most? interesting roads in Chicagoland. We will cruise out as a group PRIOR to nightfall as the police activity along our route intensifies after dark!

Well-behaved friends with NON-JGTCA type cars are welcome, but please no rice, and tell them if they roll up in a FF/FWD to please park away from the mass of GT cars Please no c0ckblocking by parking FF/FWDs in between or right up on the GTs, Thanks!

No doubt This is why we have a pretty well-defined group (e.g. what the JGTCA is). The fight you're referring to happened at an open to the public meet (even our General meets are somewhat selective) and was related to some ricer activities (e.g. some geniuses in Civics).

Now come out to our meet VR!!! you missed 3 other FDs, one pretty significantly modded

Do you know who they are? If you can get in touch with them, let them know about Indianapolis this weekend.

I know who's in that black one in front. He's about as modded as I am (though I'm on a stock motor). I know the other guys too. We were out a couple of times at Borders last year. You may have seen me. I'm the red FD with the same wheels as the modded black FD. Sotck body though.

I'll track you guys down next weekend since most of us will be out of town this weekend. You are all welcome to come down Friday night to join in the rotary challenge at the strip. Kinda last minute I know.

See you this weekend if it stays dry tomorrow afternoon, so far so good though!

Just a reminder, meeting again Sat 05/07/05

Here's some video from last weekend to give you a better idea of what the club is like...

Click Here to Download (~14.8MB WMV) (You'll have to download and rename the video--remove the .nostream extension)

Thanks again to all the members who came out and made it into the video, and thanks to 303/Elf/Rayn again for filming/production!!!!

Are stock RX8s welcome or is JGTCA.com just into modded GT cars?

A Japanese GT car is a Japanese GT car... stock or not!!

Of course! We'd love to have an RX-8 show up to the meet/cruise. Your cars are s0000000 h0t

We have a number of essentially stock members, the club is more about format than it is modifications.

Video from last weekend's meet (05/07)

Here is some new video from the 05/07 meet! Thanks again Lupin5 for filming and production!

You will probably need the latest version of Apple Quicktime (or Quicktime Alternative 8.0) to see the movie, but otherwise its quite good.

One more question:

Is JGTCA.com primarily a chicago group? From lurking on the website, it looks like it is mostly Chicago area and all your sponsors are local.

WOW we had 18 named members (and my bad if I missed anyone) show up.... and now for our guests:

Hey everyone:

Just wanted to invite some more RX-8 owners out. We've got another meet/cruise/tour and stuff for this saturday. We're also meeting only 10 minutes away from Woodfield... so that means we're close to I-90/I-355/IL-53....

Sign-up over at JGTCA.com for details...!!!

Here's a sample pic from last weekend (these pictures were during the cruise, we actually had more cars at the meet

Some of what you been missing :)

One of our other members TpCpLaYa (an FD guy ) hooked up another fresh video... this is a big one (100MB) but worth it I think... definitely shows you some flavor we've got everything from Honda to Mazda to Mitsubishi to Nissan (lots of 240s ) to Subaru to Toyota represented!
