I haven't ever taken my 8 to Freeway or Allan Patch. At Freeway, I have seen the Sales Dept. At the time I worked at Ken Garff, and we had taken in my 8. I decided to check into the prices of new. The one that I bought had 11,000 miles on it. Not bad, but I thought if payments are gonna be close, I thought I would check into an 05. I would say that the drive from West Valley to Freeway, was a waste. I was let down on the way I was treated by the sales. Which, I was critical as I was a car salesman myself. I went with the one we had taken in. The service Dept, at Freeway seemed nice. I have called to Allen Patch they seemed really nice and helpful. But Dahle, I would stay far from, I wouldn't trust them with anything. I am thinking of taking to Allen or Bountiful to make sure the recalls were done correctly. What do you all think?

problems with D. Dahle?

I got my car there. They did the recalls. When i found scoring on my brake rotors they replaces the pads and rotors for free. When i hit the jack rabbit and busted up the front splash guard they did a really good job replacing it for me fast. I guess it's all about personal experience though. I shopped around alot and found that the most personable was D. Dahle. I dunno. Well i know december is a busy month for alot of people but i would like to meet sometime in there with a few. Maybe see what ppl have done.

Hello, Fellow 8 owners. I just got a new 8 and love it. It is just a plain one. but that is how I liked it. Don't see many on the road here. I'm from Lindon. Seen one in Lehi and one out in Eagle Mt. area but that is about it

New Utard 8 owner

I just bought an 8!!! I live in Logan (probably a bad time/place for an 8 but I know from the countless test drives that I love it anyway) and I think I've only seen two other 8s up here, and one of them had a 4sale sign on it... It's good to be different. I have to go to Houston to pick it up (bought it on eBay) on saturday then it's shiftin' and driftin' at 5k rpm. Anyone know what Customer Service is like when you've been to a dealer, decided not to buy from them then took your 8 (bought from somewhere else) in for service?

I bought my car slightly used. At the time I was working at a car dealership. As for service, I would say the best Customer Service was at Bountiful, it was a very nice facility. However, actual work. I would go somewhere else. D. Dahle as you can see in earlier posts, I would completely skip, unless you just want an oil change. I have only experience with Freeway in the sales dept, as I looked at new before used. So, I can't say anything positive or negative there. However, if it's possible I would go to Legacy Mazda in Orem. In speaking with there service depts, they are very nice and honest. However, I haven't had a chance to get any work done there yet. I will give them a try.

Congratulations! I wonder if it's me you've seen... I work in Orem/Lindon and have been out to Eagle Mt. several times in the past few months. I have a titanium gray RX-8.

I may have seen you on the freeway a time or two. The one I see out west all the time is dark green. I would really like to see one around here that has exaust and some other mods done. All the 8's I see are stock.

there is no incentive other than doing me a favor that could in return get you a cold beverage if we ever met in person

Attn: RX-8 owners in the SLC, UT area

COBB Tuning is in need of some RX-8s to help us finalize our AccessPORT - ECU Programmer development. We currently own a 2005 RX-8 6MT but would like to acquire the ECU data from the following models:

2003-2004 6MT
2003-2005 AT
2006 ALL

The process takes only a few minutes and will leave no trace. All we're doing is reading the ROM data from your ECU so we can build our tuning library.

Those who volunteer will be eligible for a discount on dyno time (we have AWD/2WD chassis dynos) or a discount on the AccessPORT when it's released hopefully later this year. Whichever you prefer.

It should not matter if you have any piggybacks installed currently. We are reading the data through your OBD-2 port under the dash so we don't need to see or touch the ECU or anything else under the hood.

If interested, please make an appointment by emailing me directly at trey (at) cobbtuning.com.

Best regards,
Trey @ COBB

Thanks for the responses, I don't think it'll be quite necessary for anyone to drive across multiple states just yet. We have some locals who are helping as well as some trips planned in the near future to Colorado, California, etc where we can acquire some needed data as well.

Things are still moving forward without us having every single ECU program for every single year, it'll just be something we'll obviously need in place prior to a release. Until then, we still have plenty of programming and hardware construction to do.

Cheers,
Trey @ COBB

Am I crazy???? Last week, I traded my RX-8 in for a CX-7......... Anyone who's read my previous posts knows my "problems" Mazda and the dealerships basically kept telling me that there was nothing they could find wrong and anything that I pointed out wrong was "normal" or "suppose to act/be like that". So I decided I didn't want a RX-8 that that was "normal" in. So in the mean time I will enjoy my CX-7 and wait for a MS RX-8 or something.

Orem

Hey Maybeashinka?,

I can understand the frustrations with the Murray dealer. Have you tried Legacy Mazda in Orem? I have never been there, but from talking with the people in service on the phone, they are seem very nice. I have been to the Ogden, and Bountiful one. I don't prefer really any of those.
