I'm in Missoula and will be bringing back a 2005 Winning Blue RX-8 from NJ this next week. It's pretty sweet, with GT package and lambo doors.

I've seen maybe two or three other RX-8s around Missoula, a silver one that I see a lot but was on Craigslist about a month ago so not sure if it's still here, and the other random one here and there.

Congrats!, no one really posts from the area (as I'm sure you can see from the date of this thread) but you should defiantly enjoy an 8 up there.. if you're gonna drive it in the winter I would recommend picking up some winter tires though.

Thanks I did notice it's been dead for a while but I've been reading through miscellaneous posts around the forums and figured I'd drop in and say hi. Winter tires will definitely be in order, though we've had maybe two weeks of sticking snow this year which is weird.

I assume you're in Fargo - we'll be driving back from NJ starting on Wednesday, so I'd guess we'll be through your neck of the woods Friday afternoon/night. If you've got any recommendations for lunch/dinner there I'd probably take them!

My parents recently purchased a house up in Seeley Lake (just in town, not on the lake or anything) so I will be getting up that direction a lot more than I ever used to. Also will be applying to the pharmacy program in Missoula this spring so who knows, maybe I'll even be moving there!

You my good sir are a lucky man! It's my dream to move back up to the Rockies where i was raised, but until my job changes to where I can work from home, I'm probably not moving anywhere anytime soon.

Thanks! I'm headed up there over the holidays, but won't be in the 8 (doubt it would be much fun with snow everywhere anyways).

Congratulations! Thats legit man. I'm heading up there in August as well, finally getting 2 weeks away to go visit my old friends in Missoula and my old fishing spots. Also plan to camp out, visit Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, and a ton more areas. I'm debating whether or not to take the 8 up there; I can't fit much camping gear into that baby..

Hah, yeah and the gas mileage will break the bank on any long trip. I've had the 8 up that way only once in the four years I've had it. My brother and I managed to cram us two (with a weeks worth of luggage/clothes) and two dogs (only small-midsized beagles, but still). Was quite the adventure... and I think I'm still cleaning dog hair out.

Edit:

I even have a picture posted on this site of the beagles behind the driver's seat

*center console is under all of the pillows on the bottom left side of the picture to get an idea of the set-up haha.

Lol that's awesome they look like they're in heaven. I used to take my dog out on cruises as well but now that I swapped out to all leather thats stopped. I have taken the 8 on a 12 hr road trip out to Sweet Water, Tenn that was quite an expensive trip.. Can't imagine what the 23 hour trip to Missoula would cost!

I'm still here - I'd say I'd see you on campus with my 8 but that may not be the case. We went to take off for a road trip yesterday and while getting up on the freeway, loss of power and check engine light flashing. Took it to the dealer and fails compression test with a lot of misfires. I'm about 20 days out of warranty.

Our plans for our trip couldn't be delayed so we rented a car and I'm where I need to be for spring break, but on Monday I'm going to give MNAO a call and see if I can get a warranty replacement as the thing was meticulously maintained and I had previously reported symptoms of low compression that the dealer said was normal/couldn't duplicate. Fun!

doesnt sound very fun... I actually am in Billings today and I test drove the new subaru crosstrek... awd and 33 mpg is tempting me. It def wouldnt be as fun as the 8, but I might have to give up my toy to gain some practicality.

Yeah, this thing is getting fixed one way or another, but may switch it out for something else after the fact. I knew I was rolling on a timebomb with an original engine at 85k, and now that I'm here I don't really want to have to cover it out of warranty after this round. We'll see what happens.

Well keep me updated and I'll do the same! So do you attend UM then? If yes, how do you like it?
