Oddly enough though, they dont offer the MS CAI at the MazdaUsa website. Any thoughts? I heard they've had problems with it.

Anyone have a picture of this CAI installed? I'm trying to get a feel for what all is included given that the only pictures I could find show a nice shiny pipe and what looks like a k&n filter

The service manager at my local Phoenix area dealership said that mazda has pulled all of the RX-8 MS CAI's off the selves, perhaps because of lack of midrange power. Any comments on this from anyone? I'll look for the email he sent me and post it if i still have it.

I also comment that I don't notice any power loss issues with mine...

Mazda did pull the Mazda3Speed(turbo) and the Mazda6Speed(turbo) only. Mazda did a reflash which caused a MIL light to come on if the CAI was installed. Mazda has a fix for this and will we released soon. All RX-8, Mazda 3, Mazda 6, Mazda Miata CAI are for sell in stock will no problems.

Question

The dealership here in Iowa said it had been pulled because it was causing fuel trim problems. I had a AEM CAI for my RX8 and it ran fine, until it sucked up a bunch of water instead of air.... Now on this new engine the MIL is coming on. They say it's a fuel trim issue. When asked why the CAI worked on my old engine and not this one, he said the compression was probably not where it should be on the old one so it wasn't pulling as much air. Now with this engine, it's pulling in plenty of air and it's causing an "excessive fuel trim." Still no car a month later

I am very interested in this deal. Is this CAI worth it? Im sure since its a Mazda part everything will fit and work well. I have a Saturn Ion Redline that I have a lot of work done too, and the first mod I put on was a CAI and I through a lot of rich CEL's until I bought HPTuners and started making my own tunes. Does this happen a lot on this car? I wasnt planning on modifying this car but people that know me know I cant keep a car stock. Do I have to do any cutting or modifying? Thanks for all the help!

Pictures of my MS CAI

Here are some pics of my installed MS CAI.

http://images.hagen77.bplaced.net/PS...e/DSCN0300.JPG

I've also orderd it from mazdaparts.org

The sound is awsome at and over 4.000rpm and you can feel more power in the lower rounds...
In this case mazdaspeed really knows what a mazda needs!

Edit: @medcentermazda: by the way I've wrote a long report of this intake in our german rx-8 comunity forum because I was still the first one who installs this intake and now there are many other rx-8 driver in germany, switzerland and austria who all want's this intake now too.
But mazdaparts.org doesn't have any more intakes in stock, so where we can get them from?
Thx and sorry if there are some mistypes or failures in my text but I'm an austrian guy who actually is trying to better his engllish...

You have to remove the bumper, there's no other way to get this big 3" pipe in there. The last part, behind the bumper, with 2 bows where the filter is plugged ob is only one big part.

So as you can see on this pictures, you have to remove the bumper an this big metal thing behind the bumper to install the CAI...
