Wednesdays are real bad for me since I have class until 9pm. I might be able to make a couple this summer, and I'll definately be at the Orlando BBQ on 4/2.

Just found out this week has been moved to Thursday. I may not be able to make it.

You installed the turbo in 6 hours?
I think it took me a total of 24 hours to complete the whole project. This also including beer and pizza time, but not much.

12 hours does sound very reasonable to me.

parts vary widely depending on what you buy. The greddy kit ranges from $2900 to $3500, a quality BOV is about $200, boost controller is about $300, turbo timer is only $80, the interceptor-x is $1600, and installation/tuning/dyno time will run about $1000-$1500.

It's not cheap, but if you're serious about building up your car it's certainly worth it.

Congrats man. I would love to get a turbo but I purchased the extended warranty and only have 27K on her. I will probably get a turbo in a year or two.

Dyno is on the first page

It was 276whp and 225tq using uncorrected numbers (what was actually put out on the dyno). on the graph i posted, they are slightly lower using SAE correction since the air pressure was pretty high that day, although so was the temperature. It's been cooler recently in Florida, and good god does the car move..I rarely find giving it all it's got in the name of sanity.

Congrats, and thanks for a very well done and informative piece. I, too, have a 2004 Titanium Grey 6-speed. Would love to do something similar with my car. You appear to have used pros to do your install; what was the out-the-door price, all done and ready to drive?

And, I can't resist sneaking this oldie but goodie in: What do people think is the best tire, All-season or Summer, in the lower price range, e.g., Proxie 4, Pirelli P-Zero Nero M/S, Yokohama AVS 100, Avon 500/550, Kumho Ecsta SPT, etc.? I know the thread wasn't about this, and I apologize, but I need to make a decision ASAP, as my OEM Bridgestones are wearing out, and I need info/insights. Thank you, folks.

Lower price range...all about dry traction (fast wearing though) = Falken Azenis RT-615, good overall tire (good wear, good dry & wet traction) = Toyo T1R.

OOPS! I now see your answer above. It appears I was wrong about the pros, though. However, operating the trunk-release is a technological challenge for me; do you know what labor might cost to have someone do it for me?
Thanks again,
Jeffrey

Had mine done for $1000 installation cost (included tuning later on with the Greddy software for the EManage).

I had the kit professionally installed by a rotary-only shop (but I'm sure you know that since you're in their forum right now lol). The going rate for a proper professional install is about $1000 give or take. Depending on what parts you add to the kit, the cost can varying considerably. Bare bones will be about $4000 or so installed, but some guys have put nearly 10 grand into the motor after all was said and done.

Give Scott at Mazsport a call, they're the ones that did my install. He's probably more qualified to talk about prices based on your specific needs.

-----

I run Michelin Pilot Sport 2 XL's in 245/40/18. I have incredible traction, and it is by far the bst riding tire I've ever owned. They're pricey, but they will keep big torque from turning into smoke, especially with wider wheels.

-----

No videos since my 1394 card has been acting up lately. I'll try and get some with my digicam this weekend.

I am a little excited today so I hope you dont mind me bragging.

Used greddy kit installed (me, my mechanic brother-in-law, and a forum member with experince with the kit) in about 14 hours over two days.

FlyingLeggs, I got in on that kit from WantedTwo just before you!!!! I will refrain from doing a victory dance as you are a fellow Tiger.

(War Eagle, fly down the field
never to falter
never to yield!)

Wow that was...gay.

Did you ever find one for your car? I am telling you. Get this kit. The car flies!!!
