Interceptor installed, getting ping
Installed Scott's plugs for the leading positions. Unfortunately the shims provided for trailing are slightly oversize. It's a bummer but trailing were already #9s so it wasn't that bad. Unfortunately I still have to retard timing in order to avoid pinging--and even with a couple degrees pulled I still get occassional ping when stepping on the gas.
Prior to installing the plugs I had the following CELs:
P0300 Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
P0410 Secondary air injection system malfunction
P2021 Intake manifold runner position sensor/switch circuit low bank 2 a)
P2096 Post catalyst fuel trim system too lean bank 1
After installing the plugs I had the following CELs:
P0172 System too rich (bank 1)
P0003 Fuel volume regular control circuit low
We'll see if any more CELs crop up now that the plugs are in.

P0003 isn't a valid CEL for the RX8... make sure you have the car off and the ignition turned to "ON" when reading the codes - not sure why you have to do it, but random codes seem to crop up every once in a while if you read the codes with the car running
