I just installed mine today... and gave it some test runs.

Initial Impressions...
- I can put the car in neutral now without fear of it dying.
- Much smoother idle, and once again... no fear of it dying in idle
- No more... POP POP POP POP POP, as the car is no longer dumping fuel on deceleration.
- Coming off a quick 5-4-3-2 down shift... i can get right back on the gas and pull out of the corner with full boost, but without detonation. Why exactly i had detonation with the emanage.. im not exactly sure. It seemed as if the Emanage unit wasn't able to respond fast enough to RPM changes... and was providing incorrect amounts of fuel. This inconsistency is exactly why i switched to the Interceptor unit.

I have my low boost set to .5 Bars, and high boost at just under .8 bars. The car handled fine in both settings... but i'll be driving the car on low boost until i can get it tuned.

I did notice that with the stock map.. running the same .5 bars of boost... the car felt more sluggish now than with the emanage. I was expecting this as the emanage was tuned specifically for my car by a very good tuner... while the Interceptor is running on a stock map. I will say that the interceptors stock map is MUCH BETTER than greddy's stock map.
This is fine, as i would rather have a richer/safer stock map to begin with. As soon as I can get the car into a tuning session again... i'm sure it will be much faster than before.

Oh also... i disposed of my ECU cover about a month ago. I'm going to have to swing by the local dealer to get one on monday so i can securely install the ECU and Interceptor.

SCOTT,
i had a quick question. If I am not tuning the car yet... do i need to install the black dongle that connects between the DB9 Cable and the Interceptor Unit?

Thanks,
HS

Thanks,

That goes between the other end of the cord, and your computer.

Glad to hear the interceptor is treating you good.

Oh ok.. that solves the lack of space issue. thanks.
So is that needed anytime you link up your interceptor to the pc... or only when you want to load additional maps?

Also, what are you using for DB9 to USB? I was thinking either of these should work...

Your additional maps are actually stored in there I believe. I've never tried linking it without it, so I'm not sure if it would work. I think I remember people saying they couldn't connect without it. My computer has that port, so I haven't had to get anything additional.

So... i'm having an issue with the car stuttering when in reverse. Has anyone else experienced this.

It feels as if it is not getting the appropriate amount of fuel.

THE CAR WON'T START!!!

Damn interceptor, what have you done???!?!?!?!?
Oh wait, turns out i left the dome light on overnight... my mistake, heeheheh. Jump started the car and now everything is fine.

Oh, and i think the stuttering in reverse issue may have been user error as well. I think that is solved since it didn't happen today... but if it comes back i'll report back.
