Greddy Turbo Upgrade
Looking for more HP through the mid and upper RPM range with the Greddy Turbo System?
Mazsport offers a Greddy turbo upgrade for $975.
Mazsport will machine the compressor housing. Then, install a larger compressor wheel. And finally, rebuild and balance the rotating assembly.
We also offer ceramic coating for the turbo charger and manifold, which is not included in the above price. Options for ceramic coating are silver, gunmetal, satin black, and flat black.

i was curious to know how much boost you can carry to redline with the upgrade?

This typically doesnt increase the peak flow per se, but does increase the mid range HP.....

I wasn't really thinking about increased flow or power, but more in terms of longevity/reliability.

that hp question keeps frustrating me to no end.
This modification to the turbo will allow it to hold more air/boost. So you'll boost more at redline and hence will get more power.
How can you put a hp number on that? If someone currently has a sh*tty tune and has maybe only 240whp on his turbo kit, and someone else who is tuned properly is running 300whp on the exact same turbo kit... then both people do the conversion. I can bet you the second guy who knows what he's doing is gonna get more HP out of it then the first guy.
There are so many other factors with your turbo'd cars that go into what the final WHP number is, that affecting one thing (size of the turbo) can't give you a definete number of increase.
a more appropriate measure of the value of this modification is actually how much more air/boost can we run with upgrading the turbo? That is what i'm curious to know

^^Asking for a representative HP number is not all that unreasonable. Asking for how much boost you can run with the mod has the same problem - it depends on your ambient pressure. High altitude turbos, like me, can't hold the same pressure as those at lower altitudes.

yes i did install my new mazsport upgraded turbo.
Upon first inspection of my new rebuilt turbo from Mazsport you can really tell alot of time was put into the rebuild. it was completely cleaned and re sprayed.. besides some minor corrosion on some parts you would almost think it was a brand new turbo!!
For me getting this upgrade was a no brainer.. a chance to increase horsepower in your midrange and get a rebuild at the same time. ALL YOU GREDDY GUYS SHOULD DO THIS WHEN YOUR TURBO GOES. its like 400 bucks to get it rebuilt so for twice the money you can get some power.
Unfortunately its like 40 degrees here and i havent really went all crazy and dyno'd it. But hopefully ill notice alot of power.
I definately feel a difference from my butt dyno though.
I dont know what else i can say about this turbo from mazsport. If scott and betsy were closer id probably have alot more money in my car *is that a bad thing?* Betsy is always there to answer questions and hanging out with scott made me a find a new understanding and love for my rx8.
Thanks again.. Im sure ill be back!
Update:
Ive been using the 8 for long distance trips to take pictures for our insurance agency.. I cannot believe how much power u get out of second gear!! You can definately notice a difference at 4,000 rpms to redline the car pulls ALOT harder. My gas mileage has suffered greatly, because im constantly at 100% throttle now!!. Gave my roomate a ride after 2 nights ago and let me stressed im *still not tuned for increased boost* and my friend asked "dude what hell kind of turbo did you put in this thing? its like a whole different car in first and second gear.!"

Has mazsport released any maps for the greddy turbo kit w/ upgrades, i'm not experienced enough to do it myself so i leave it to you experts. I'm looking at getting a greddy kit (and theres 1 for sale w/ mazsport upgrade already preformed) and i was curious whether there were any maps out that would make the best use of this upgraded system.
