Cruise Control
I think it would be a good idea if Interceptor owners, and future Interceptor owners made a prioritized list of additions to the Interceptor for Scott. So he knows what his customers want and will pay for, and concentrates his efforts on the right things.
My list in order of things I would like is:
1. Some type of O2 sensor simulator or some way to turn off CEL - Money in hand
2. Intake air temp sensor - Money in hand
2. Cruise control - Money in hand
4. Scotts latest idea (Not sure if he cares if I post about it yet) - Would purchase in next 4 months. Sooner if it turns out to be cheaper than I'm expecting.
5. Knock sensor - Would purchase, but when depends on price. If you could do it <$120, I'd buy it now.
My estimates are of course assuming the price for the item is not a shocker.

Excellent Idea!
Question? How do we ensure the priority list is an actual "I want this now" list and not turned into a "wish list"? I am interested in giving the consumer what they want, but lets face it guys, there are only so many hours in my day. Scott

I see your point. Well, the best I can think of is to add to the prioritized list a time frame that you're thinking to purchase the item. I've updated myne.
Scott, what might be really good, would be if you started a thread and published a list of all the possible additions you are considering for the Interceptor and we could provide feedback based on that. I'm sure many people aren't even aware of all the stuff you're thinking about doing.

Well, I think the items that would bring a FI'd and Intercepted (?) Rx-8 back to "OEM status" should be addressed first. The drivability is obviously fine, but I think things like the CEL, cruise control, knock sensor, and idle should be looked at first.
I can live without those things, but it'd be nice to be able to drive the car as if it was totally stock.

I'm not interested in cruise control or the other items listed right now.
hey Scott,
i concur with the folks above. if i could prioritize, a fix for the CEL would top my list. Cruise control is not that important to me either, but some of the other items rkostolni mentioned would (in time) work for me as well. look forward to whatever it is you're workin' on!
take care,
Dave

well, i'm gonna need that CEL fix a little sooner than expected - i received my emissions testing notification today. dang it! lol.
hopefully something can be done before May or i'll just throw the car on a tow behind my Navigator, drive a few states north and register the car where my folks live.
damn recycled hybrid drivin' tree huggin' politicians...

Jeff mentioned it should be possible to put the CEL out by adding a pot in the O2 sensor wire and trimming it to achieve an AFR the ecu likes. I would try this if I had a Canscan or some other way of reading the AFR off the stock 02, but I don't. It really shouldn't be too hard. I just wonder if it will effect any other systems on the car such as DSC. But really you could just add it in for emissions and then remove it afterward.

hey Ryan and BigOLundh,
thanks for your input. as a matter of fact, i'm currently investigating "help" passing the emissions test. a buddy of mine has a modified evo viii with the ever-present CEL glaring at him and his cousin works/worked at a nearby testing station. we hope to find out soon.
i'm also gonna ask ray at pf supercars if he knows anyone who would accept my "gratitude" for their personal assistance in this matter.
i have until May, so there's no big rush at this time. however, its never too early to plan. thanks again!
