Paul.
sorry, im super noob, just bought my 04 rx8 2 days ago, is the resevoir suppose to have a hose go from the top to the side then just be cut? or is it supposed to go to the radiator, im a honda head and i know that on my honda it doesnt have a cut off hose, it just goes from the cap to the radiator, but the rx8 has a hose and just ends... O_O
Yes, stock is just a short tube to dump boiling coolant into the rad and all over the steering connectors there. Some Mazda engineer was hung over when that design was approved.....
'We' usually recommend extending the tube down below the rad, near the ground.

I see i see, when my coolant went down i was scared for life lol, plus that whole cream thing got me thinking my car was dying when i just paid 9k for it, what do you guys think? 9k for my 2004 GT Sport Package with 95k miles? plus the cream thingy on the dipstick, i hear its normal? is that true? its like below 40 degrees here in SC
Cheapest RX8 coolant tank yet
How may I sell you a coolant tank? Let me count the ways
.
I now have several versions available including without the sensor and without cap (The cheapest of all), with cap but no sensor, with sensor but no cap, with cap and sensor. I even offer it with the hose that sometimes get's damaged or purposely cut during the operation of tank replacement (Below tank, connects to top of radiator).
Most people are aware that the primary failure point is the float losing buoyancy so the naked tank is effective for most coolant light on dash problems. The sensor could fail as well so it is safer for some people to buy with sensor if unsure.
Here are the options (Please remember to contact me first to order if you are outside the US):

I'm so happy to offer this in the most versatile and economical manner available.
