Fired? Me? PLEASE!!!

Don't you have to get paid to be fired?

Sorry for the delays, things have been pretty hectic around the MM workshop lately. Those of you waiting on tunes should received them soon. Jeff has been juggling alot lately. I think he is going to join the circus soon......

MazdaManiac 05-06-2009 07:40 PM

Yeah, sorry folks. Just too much going on.
Over 40 calibration submissions on the desk at the moment.
Turbo kits being built, motor work being done and dealing with a handful of customer/thieves has take its toll on my scheduling.
Recently added the MazdaSpeed 6 and MazdaSpeed 3 to the calibration smorgasbord, too.

Maybe you should offer a final buyout map to your customers. Once they feel the tweaks are done, they can opt out and buy your map. It then becomes their possession to do with what they want. Make them sign a non-disclosure form so they don't advertise them.

When the end of the contract comes, its over - complete or not.
I've been very generous with the time frame - especially since it has taken me some significant time to get the early folks done.
But there is a large handful of AP users running out of contract next month after being on it for a YEAR.
Don't even get me started on the people that bought their APs last June and then finally got around to asking me to produce their calibrations in March.

NDA - yeah, good luck.
I've got people ordering APs and then charging-back on their CC when they receive it. You think they are gonna stick to an NDA?
Fat chance.
Remember premise #1.

What about if you have been waiting a very very very very long time?

You aren't even in the queue.
I sent you your version 4.0.3 on February 16th and that is my last communication with you.
When and what did you submit?

Yea, I commended you in that thread. There are some of us who do still live by their word and a will honor a business relationship by a handshake alone. It must be that those days are leaving us behind. I'm just old school I guess when it comes to doing what I say, and sticking to it. '58 was a good year!

;)

Feb 17th .. I had that detonation like sound....

Replaced the intake to a racing beat (from HKS) Replaced the cat from a high flow to a ap duel res mid pipe since then because I really didn't think i was ever going to get a tune with an hks intake

heyarnold69 05-06-2009 10:45 PM

I guess Ill log tomorrow and send you another set? Im trying to get something close to a tune before you come here in aug ish (still coming?)

Flashwing 05-07-2009 12:57 AM

Not trying to add anything to MazdaManiac's work load but if I was a customer I would be flipping logs back to him as soon as you can.

Get your calibration, load it up...drive for a day which should allow your trims to settle in and get a new set of logs back to him. I understand some people had their cars in storage for the winter but waiting several weeks between submissions only limits your opportunity to get the best tune possible.

*grins* Thats what I have been doing. Every time I get a new tune it is programmed in the evening and I take one drivecycle then. Then in the morning I drive to work for the second cycle, and when I drive home I take the logs, freaking people out on the highway.

Actually my biggest problem is the low speeds. People tend to try to pass me and get surprised when I'm on a WOT third gear. Usually people are up next to me just as the power starts kicking in. And then they are in the rear mirror.... ah good times...

That is why I do mine at 3am ;)
Lot less traffic.

Yeah, around here, @ 3am, there are a TON of deer either crossing the road way or just about to! I was nearly petrified trying to get my maps out of fear of the deer. Oftentimes, you'll see plenty during the daylight hours too!

Haven't seen any deer here in Akron
Shouldn't you be doing this on the highway anyway due to the speed you'll be at while performing your WOT in 3rd gear ;)

Indeed! Deer don't read and really don't care 'which' roadway they enter. :)

I had a girlfriend ask me how the deer know to cross at the deer crossing sign
True story and she was serious when she asked.

Wow. No way that's true.

Flash - Word to your mother. This is what I have done and I am on v4_0_6. It pays to stay on top of the calibration process. My 8 runs like a champ! :)

Jedi54 05-07-2009 12:09 PM

what's this whole "datalog" and email thing you guys speak of?
I just pay Jeff to come out to sunny SoCal and do it in person. :FIREdevil

sorry...couldn't resist.

pdxhak 05-07-2009 02:02 PM

LOL trouble maker...

elysium19 05-07-2009 02:07 PM

I think it might help if Jeff made it a little clearer for some people when they are "done". After my 4th logging/tuning, the AFR's seem good, the car feels good, and I think everything's fine, so I'm leaving well enough alone. But some people may not know exactly what parameters they are shooting for, really, and may just keep sending back logs, possibly adding to MM's workload unnecessarily.

So...yeah, that might be helpful.

Jedi54 05-07-2009 02:12 PM

I still don't know what you guys are talking about!
I knew my car was done after Jeff took it off the dyno. :dunno:

;)

Yeah, thanks for the reminder. SoCal is my roots before I joined the Army (Palm Desert).

I wish there were more 8s that needed to be tuned in Colorado Springs. Oh, well, I am.. well Jeff has my 8 right where it needs to be.
