Valentine's Day (or so) Run - GI

Just seeing who would be interested in doing a drive based out of San Antonio on the weekend before or after Valentine's Day.

Potential route would start at HWY 16 and 1604 and drive to Bandera, then cut over to Leaky, then the 3 sisters, then back to kerrville then home.

hey, I'd probably be in unless there's something going on with school I dont know about yet... I'm guessing people are still getting back from trips and stuff so that might be why people havent been posting.

Would you guys allow a previous 8 owner to tag along? Been itching to run the sisters since last October. Actually I am surprised we didn't run into the 8 group since we were out there that same weekend...we did see a Miata group though. Real fun!

Cool, thanks Grungepup...I will work to clear my schedule...really looking forward to it.

But if any of you other guys would rather me not attend then just speak up...the last thing I want to do is disrupt your group.

Yeah... its just about 350 miles.... but it covers all the roads we did at the state meet and then some. Should take about 8-9 hours. If we leave at 8am-ish then we should be hitting the forum just in time for dinner

My run today was about 30% faster than the google map calculated time...obviously due to the speed with which we actually drive vs. the google assumed speeds. Your time may actually be a little less...depending on how fast you plan to drive the route. I haven't done the calculations for your route, and you may have already accounted for that. Just thought I would mention it in case you didn't!

Looks good dude. I'm down, I'll need to test out the new suspension anyway.

Yeah... rethinking it.... will prolly cut the length down to about 6 hours.

might have an impromptu meet to discuss the course and the date. I dont want to do it on V day for obvious reasons. So either the 7th or the 21st.

Yeah...V day. The wife would kill me!

Google shows a length of ~9.5 hours...You have about ~1.5 hours getting to and from the area...so you are looking at 8 hours in the twisties according to google. More like 5.5 hours (google -30%) plus 1 hour for breaks, engine/brake cool downs, refueling etc...so you are prolly looking at an 8 hour total run as is.

Leave at 8am and pull in at 4pm or 5pm. Totally doable.
